How do I clean up and restore the finish on my running boards ?

I just had the Z71 running bards (Part Number: 23196394) installed in place of the atrocious plastic ones that came with the truck. It wasn't even safe to use the factory ones in winter conditions when they are glazed over with ice. Just my 2 cents.

Solution Finish is the way to go....will last about 6mo with typical use and washing. It's not slippery. If you want a more permanent finish try Cerakote Trim Coat...they've got some automotive finishes for plastic trim. A registered professional detailer in your area should be able to help you out also if not point you in the right direction.

I repainted all my black plastic with Krylon Fusion in satin black, still look like new 2 years later. It doesn’t make them any slippier than before, just don’t spray so much on that you fill in the texture. 2-3 light coats works great.

The finish on my 2015 Tahoe running boards are pretty beat up. It was a 39 month lease vehicle. The running boards show it's neglect, what can I do to fix them ? I tried Mothers Back to black, but it needs something more. Thank you !

I have always used Forever Black FB060 on my boards and vinyl trim-even on my Weathertechs-looks good

Oh yeah, $37 for a bottle, shit should work wonders but it looks like tire shine to me.

I used forever black trim dye on mine. Good stuff so far... Not slick and it is easy to apply. Just as a warning, do not use the foam brush that is included. You need something more like a wax applicator pad. Otherwise you can see the streaks from the brush strokes.
