    Common Issues

I have owned a 1997 Saturn, 1999 Grand Prix and my wife’s 2011 SRX. They did not experience the numerous issues as the Yukon, but had some issues. My cars are always purchased new and maintained with the severe service schedule. I use only fully synthetic fluids in all cars, these Yukon...

    Common Issues

That’s a really bad comparison. Daily transportation and recreational firearms are apples and oranges. Have you spent over $70k on Ruger guns? Did you purchase 1 gun for over $70k? Did the failures interrupt your daily ability to commute to work and appointments? The service has been fine...

    Common Issues

Maybe a lot of my issues are due to 2015 being the new model year/ changes. I’ve had a lot of issues that should not come with a $70k price tag: HVAC condensor Fuel pump Failed #5 lifter Failed fuel injector New transmission New radiator New struts (3 of 4 frozen) New collision sensors New...

2015 Yukon Denali dropped lifter at 77k miles

Yes, I would have , but it was covered and I wanted to know what the dealer would sting you for, so I asked. The error messages were due to a failed neg battery cable. Was yielding too much resistance and causing sensor issues.

2015 Yukon Denali dropped lifter at 77k miles

Car is back from dealer and runs fine. They asked me to drop it back there to check for coolant leaks due to the new coolant smell. Also now getting nonstop error messages to check: Park assist Trailer braking Side detection Airbag Theft deterrent Rear camera So.... something is shorted or...

2015 Yukon Denali dropped lifter at 77k miles

Filled up at gas station and pulling back out onto the road when I get a flashing CEL, stabilitrack and rough running engine. Got it 2 miles home and called dealer in am. Said to have it towed in. #6 cylinder had a failed lifter. Replaced under warranty. Now notice a coolant smell. Not...

Time for new plugs, looking for your preferences

You’re not going to notice anything with pricey wires and plugs. Go OEM for both and call it a day. Rebate might still be going on for the plugs, I ordered them and wires from Amazon and plugs ended up $3 each after rebate. Don’t overthink this one...

Replaced plugs and wires at 76k - 2015 Denali

You can search YouTube- this may help Please don’t take this harshly, but if you cannot find the plugs, you maybe shouldn’t be changing them. Take your time and insure you won’t be rushed. You’ll do fine

Replaced plugs and wires at 76k - 2015 Denali

It was sometimes a little rough or bumpy when new. Dealer said it was normal and then it actually seemed to smooth out after a while. I did run Techron cleaner several times over last few years. I guess it must have creeped back a bit, because it’s really smooth now.

    2017 Tahoe Brake Life

I got about 70k out of all 4 brakes. Front had 1 dragging pad that forced me to change the fronts. Rears has a little left on them. If that had not happened, probably could have gotten another 20k miles out of them. Really depends on driving habits, towing etc.

Replaced plugs and wires at 76k - 2015 Denali

I take it back about not noticing a difference - idle is smoother now. Used to kinda pulse or shake a little sometimes and that’s gone now. Maybe it was time in fact....

Replaced plugs and wires at 76k - 2015 Denali

I can’t really tell a difference. Maybe a little smoother idle, but I thought that could be placebo effect. Wires looked fine and I resistance tested one and it was fine. I really just figured: 1- we don’t drive in ideal textbook conditions, so 100k seems long 2- the longer those plugs stay...

Replaced plugs and wires at 76k - 2015 Denali

Hello Sharing pics of plugs at 76k. Changed wires as well. Manual states 97,500 miles to do this, but I tend to do routine maintenance early, since I don’t drive in ideal conditions. Waiting until 100k might also make it hard to get plugs out... They look great. Probably no issues going...

2015 Tahoe LTZ front shock/strut replacement options?

Anyone know if replacing MRC struts is just plug and play or is there some dumb programming sequence you need to follow or have an obdii computer, etc...?

2015 Tahoe LTZ front shock/strut replacement options?

Similar situation for me. 75k , 3/4 struts failed. Extended warranty covers these thank goodness. It just paid for itself. Dealer will not replace 4th rear strut, though they admit it should be done in pairs. At least I have 25k left on warranty for last one to fail.... Love the Yukon...

    2015 Tahoe Squeak During Startup

I had this on mine at about 22k. Dealer replaced belt and tensioner and it went away. They said belt looked glazed, so maybe tensioner was faulty / rubbing or somehow misaligned .

Don’t forget to flush your brake system - 3yrs or 45k

OP here with update. It’s almost exactly 1 year since the first full system flush. Now at 70k and I put new rear rotors and pads on, flushed again on rear calipers: Fluid gets dirty quickly. I put front pads and rotors on at about 60k, and flushed front calipers at that time. I think...

Coolant smell outside vehicle - TSB Present

My 2015 is in the shop today to fix a leaking radiator ( and 2 rear bumper side detection sensors). I noticed a coolant smell after pulling into the garage a while ago. Never leaked on the ground or able to see weeping on the radiator... Brought truck in today and they are now replacing the...

    Improve Transmission Longevity

Keep fluid clean and cool is #1. If you tow a lot, longevity is decreased of course. I personally would not spend time and money on ‘mods’ for a transmission with almost 200k on it.
