Don’t forget to flush your brake system - 3yrs or 45k

...forgot to mention, don’t forget to grease the 2 zerk fittings to the left of the hub - fronts only. I believe these are the only 2 serviceable lube points on the suspension...

2017 Transmission not exactly smooth slipping into gears

My 2015 got a new factory transmission installed at 14k. It was clicking, clunking and shifting badly. The new one doesn’t click, but still clunks sometime and I cringe thinking of how it’s eating up the rest of the drivetrain components as it does it.... I’ve had software updates and it’s no...

Don’t forget to flush your brake system - 3yrs or 45k

Hello all I’m anal about routine maintenance with all my cars. Just flushed the brake fluid from all 4 calipers this morning. The pedal feels more firm and I was surprised. Normally I can’t tell, so there’s proof it was a good time to do it. 51k on my 2015 Yukon. Manual states to do this...

2015 Yukon - Change both diffs' oil and transfer case fluid early on

I listed the gear oil and trans fluid (for transfer case) in the first post....this is a 2015 Yukon with 8 speed. The 8L90 transmission requires Dexron-HP spec fluid. I have read the trans fluid swap is not as straight forward as days past. I've always done my own cars in the past, but may...

GM / AC Delco Brake Pads/Rotors for 2015 Tahoe

Yes, Powerstop rotors are nice. Don't really need slotted/ drilled ones. Also, Wagner ThermoQuiet and/ or Severe Duty pads have been great. I have used these HD pads on my mini van, SRX and Honda Element and they were great.

2015 Yukon - Change both diffs' oil and transfer case fluid early on

I have never heard that. In every 4wd vehicle I've had, I have always changed that oil at some point. It's a maintenance item.

2015 Yukon - Change both diffs' oil and transfer case fluid early on

Just sharing my experience with everyone. 2015 Yukon Denali with 39k miles. I changed the gear oil in both differentials and the transfer case fluid today. Used Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90 and their Synthetic ATF, which is compatible with Dexron VI. I wish I had done this at 5k or 10k...

    Video Of Engine

Just spend some money on a good mechanic to go over the truck for you. It will be well worth it in the long run. Listening to an engine won't paint a complete picture.

    4WD/Auto/2WD Feedback

I take it back... Tried again today 2x going into Low then back to 2wd and it bangs and jerks each time . Doesn't seem right. Hope it didn't damage anything. Disappointing...... Will have dealer ride with me during first oil change .

    4WD/Auto/2WD Feedback

So I played around with 4WD again today and it was whisper quiet changing in all settings. Maybe it was an anomaly for the first couple times. Not sure. Strange.. I am happier and a bit relieved. I need to check its birthday to see if the trans SW update is needed still, or I suppose I...

    4WD/Auto/2WD Feedback

Anyone else? I am disappointed in the trans shifting and the transfer case clunking/ bank when engaging it. For what this truck costs it should be silky smooth. I understand a little noise when engaging 4l but not a banging thud. I don't see how this is normal. Now I'll have to deal with...

    4WD/Auto/2WD Feedback

Does your truck "bang" into 4wd? My new 2015 seems to make a lot of noise as it switches. More so into 4L. I insured to shift in Neutral and rolling 1-2 mph as manual states and it just seems loud. Might be normal, I just don't know. Also, does 4L fell like slack or very jerky in the drivetrain...
