If changing the pump were a five minute job i would say go with a cheap part but it`s a pain in the ass especially changing it on your back in the garage. Like Galante said, Spend a little more for a good quality part.
Rock auto has a few AC delco pumps. One isn`t bad at $185 but the other is...
You could try to climb under and tap the fuel tank with a piece of a 2x4 with the key on to try and get the pump running again. If that works just use it to get you home or to a garage to have it changed because it will stop working again.
If that doesn`t work you can try some starting fluid...
With a super 44 there won`t be some drone, There will be a LOT of drone. I`m pretty sure there have been a few guys around here that put one on their tahoe and they replaced it with something larger soon after due to their ears bleeding.
I have a flowmaster 50 series delta flow with close to...
Climb under the truck and look for your leak. If there`s oil all over and you can`t pinpoint the leak clean it up as best you can and let the truck idle and climb back under and watch where it comes from and let us know where it`s coming from.
I have a spectre cai, They come with an oiled filter but i swapped an AEM dry cone filter. They`re washable and i bought two so i always have a clean one waiting in the garage when it`s time to change it.
I`m pretty sure i got them on ebay.
I am by no means a transmission expert so i`ll just copy this explanation of what may happen.
Generally, if the transmission fluid has not been changed around 60,000 miles, varnish and sludge from oxidized fluid combine with particles from clutch and band wear and create a gummy--almost...
I solved my tire pressure monitor problems by removing them and throwing them in the trash and replacing them with regular valve stems. I monitor the tire pressure with my eyes every time i walk up to my vehicle.
If the transmission fluid has never been changed i would be cautious about changing it. I used to be a mechanic and when we serviced a transmission with little to no service history on more than one occasion the transmission failed shortly after the work was done and one couldn`t even back out...
1. This was the day i got it after its first wash, Those horrible wheels and raised white letter tires needed to go.
2.New wheels, Crappy Catback CAI and BB tune.
3.How it looks today, custom quality catback and new wheels.
Personally i would never go that long between changes even with a good oil like mobil 1. I use royal purple and they say you can run it for 12k but i change at 6k. It`s cheap enough to change for me to wait that long.
It will sound great to anyone outside of the truck but it will make your ears bleed on the interior. Maybe if you sprayed five gallons of lizard skin down on top of dyna matt it would be ok.
No trouble at all, Slight MPG increase but a large increase in SPG That`s smiles per gallon. The best mod i have is a Blackbear tune and worth every cent.
That makes a huge difference, My lack of ability to explain what is exactly going on lead me to copy this........
The name "part time" derives from its use. It can only be used part of the time - most of the time (for most uses) it has to remain in 2WD. Only "full time" - notice the name -...
I have three friends with the 8.1 and every one of them has had the exhaust manifold leak so i bet that`s your problem as well. For the rough idle i would start with cleaning the MAF and the throttle body and if that doesn`t work, Plugs and wires.
I did the upgrade and from what i was told you need to swap everything or it wont work. Once you get the old calipers off and do a side by side comparison you`ll see that there is a big size difference.
I forgot to add that i went with R-1 concepts drilled and slotted E line rotors and love...
I would pull the belt off and spin every pulley and wiggle them to find which one is bad. Don`t forget about the A/C tensioner pulley, Mine went bad and was making a hell of a noise.
This is the kit but it says it doesn`t fit models with the auto leveling suspension. I have no idea why it wouldn`t fit because it just goes inside the coil spring. Maybe give them a call and ask why it won`t fit...
