Sorry, some pics would help. I was able to push the shock to left in this pic but it will probably slide back. This is happening on both sides in the front. 98 4x4 yukon.
Hello-
I recently installed new shocks on my Yukon. The top of the shock seems to be rubbing against the housing it is bolted too. The best way to describe it is that the eye of the shock slid to the left a little bit and the round part above the silver piston part is rubbing up against there...
Hello-
Just replaced my blower resistor thing behind the glove box due to my fan selector not working on 5 and 2. Selector 2 works now but number 5 still does not work. Sometimes when I turn it to 5 and then turn back to 4 it doesn't work until I turn I turn it to 3. Beside checking the fuse...
On my 2006 the rear hatch/door has no key hole or exterior way to unlock/lock the door if the motor inside fails. There is the handle at the bottom and the hatch button but when the motor fails the door will not unlock or lock depending on when it failed. I have seen other Tahoe's with a key...
Turns out when I changed the spark plugs I pressed this fuel line down into the connection causing the o-ring to shift and creating a small leak. Thankfully I was able to reset everything and fix it. Seems like cheap way to handle fuel...
I had the same problem. Motor is bad and there is no key hole to unlock the door manually. If you search ebay there is a guy selling these randomly for like 60 bucks. Otherwise it is 300 at the dealer.
Pulled the trigger. Ended up being 785 for the intake manifold gasket change and a new radiator with a fluid flush. When they put everything back together the radiator was leaking so had to take care of that as well.
Not sure on what type of thermostat I am running. It has the vortec engine in it though. The temp gauge since I have owned always ran a little higher than it is now so that's why I mentioned it, I suppose it could be un related. It was quite a bit of water/coolant so I don't understand how it...
Thanks. I will check out the back of the engine. The coolant level is full in the radiator. I test drove it last night and not a single drop of water came out but the temp was still running low. Would a water leak at the manifold just be a seal or a symptom of something worse?

Hello-
I have a 98 Yukon with about 153k miles on it. Today when I stopped at the store there was a lot of water and coolant leaking from around the oil drain area under the engine. I checked the reservoir and it was low. Also the temp gauge is 30-40 degrees lower than it has been. The weird...
Hello-
I seem to have caused a problem for myself. There is a hard fuel line that runs across the top of the engine that is leaking on the driver side. The leak is happening where the line connects to a part of the driver side fuel rail. There is a metal clip that seems to be holding it on to...
Thanks for all the tips. I went out this morning and had my wife sit in the driver seat with the door open and key in the ignition. Sure enough once I started shaking the ground cable the lights flickered or went out. Looks like the part of the ground wire to the chassis was loose and dirty. I...
Would a bad switch cause no power for everything? It's almost like the battery loses connection. IO tracted he power wires as far I could but didnt find any loose connections

I feel like I have similar issue. Intermittently I will have no power when I try to start the car. No lights are anything. When I was messing around with it I slammed the car door with the key turned in the ignition and suddenly the power came back on. Also the radio works but the clock will be...
Thanks for the help. So the Tahoe would not start again after replacing the alternator. I measured the voltage and it is at 14 when idling. The starting problem is intermittent. I was just at the store and I turned the key and the card was completely dead. No power what so ever. I tried about 10...
Thanks. I will try disconnecting the battery when I get hom to make sure. IF the car stays running is there anything else I can check? I suppose the alternator could be "failing" and that is why it runs the battery down. or there could be a drain on the battery but I wouldn't even begin to know...
I have never removed the belt on my Chevy vechicles. When I did this on other cars there was a belt tensioner that I could loosen. I don't seem to see one. How do I get the belt loose on this Tahoe?
