    Plug a usb stick in there first, one with an idiot light on it, to make sure it's working. It might be the phone or cable not liking that port. I went through three different cables myself (but not for an X).

    I just got mine... I ordered blue and got green, no biggie. The firmware on mine is 8.4. The latest, that I know of, is 8.6. So, that's not too bad. I may still send mine in for the update.

    And my advice, always with this plastic panel cr@p, is to do it when it's: warm outside or after you warm up the interior. Less chance of breakage/carnage if the plastic pieces are warm.

    Does it sound like it is exhaust related? Could be your flapper valve in the exhaust, after the muffler. Check out the "bolt mod."

    Did you look inside the little tool storage area? That's where I found fine, along with the nozzle thingy you need if you are adding gas from a gas can.

    See, I tried that but every time I make a turn, it shuts itself off. It doesn't matter, left or right. Then I have to turn it back on, as I drive down the road.

    Yes, that is how I did it. In both. I still want to disconnect my onstar box though. I still have the green idiot light on my mirror and, every now and then, I get a message saying that I have "limited" service with onstar.
