I've read articles that basically point to poor quality pads causing the "warped" rotor effect.
They say its material transfer from pad to rotor and can also be caused from hot pads sitting on hot rotors at stop lights and people don't move and hold their brakes tight and pad material gradually...
Dpending on how far you are from home I would only have them do 1 side if necessary and do the other when u get home.
A quick rock auto check: $100-120 -ish for the bearing. FYI.
I would NEVER change my oil based on today's stupid software engineers.
I've read a lot on switching to synthetic and most say within maybe 50k miles but after that stick dyno oil and just change regularly and use good oil like castrol or something
I had a trans guy get my plug loose but said it was terrible to get loose. Crazy.
There is high likely the gasket will leak over any drain plug. Ummm...doesn't GM realize oil drain plugs are no issue so why the trans plug issue???
Never ever could rationalize the plug issue.
Make sure the battery connections are CLEAN....and solid connected.
I had No-start issues on my lawn tractor that all boiled down to corrosion on my terminals that I thought was very very minor...well it wasn't. My new battery did nothing and then finally a real good cleaning on the connections...
Others have verified the actuator for the front diff but I would give you a heads up:
I realize yours is awd so this prob won't apply...but...if someone finds the system going into 4HI all by itself there are some culprits.
One culprit: My 2001 took a lot of investigating to learn that simply...
Interesting.....I'm actually looking at maybe upgrading to a southern state 2wd suburban or Yukon XL even though I live in snow belt.
RARELY do I use 4wd and for the maintenance and potential failures of the 4wd system I regularly debate the value for it in my own situation. (no off-road, good...
It could be. I dont know. But if there's no response at the trans linkage then my thinking is its a mechanical break and it *could* be something minor.
Just a process of elimination.
Wondering if the cable is broken somewhere.
I would check it at the trans while a helper moves the shifter. If no response then prob a break.
Just a thought .
I'm finishing up my whole "gearbox and company" front end repair.
Got my rebuilt from Benchworks Steering Systems. I've read rebuilts are a gamble off the shelf so trying this route from an actual rebuilder shop.
I have minor issues after all these repairs that I think are alignment issues and...
So atf exits top port of rad? And wouldn't it exit so fast you couldn't fill fast enough to keep up?
I did similar process on a caravan and I had the return hose in a bucket and there was no way I could run engine longer than 5-7 sec or so and had to top off. Fluid flowed fast.
Thanks.
I've been a little vague because I don't/haven't had specifics to provide.
Now I know more:
Weight on tires: turns "easy" w/ steering wheel. Run engine and turn wheel to 9 or 3 and let go and steering wheel tries to go right back to center.
Jack up frt end: engine off. Turns fairly...
Looked my order up on RA. Bought dorman T and Gates straight fitting. March 2014. And the Dorman wasn't w/ the CD notation.
Maybe need to look at replacement?
I've taken my car's alt to a local rebuilder of electrical stuff - alt, starters, etc...and it was easy the easy route to go for me.
I'm cheap...but having a rebuilder do it for $60-75 around me is worth it.
I'm unsure. Never did a gearbox before so didn't want to play with it and mess something up prior to install. But it turned pretty easy one way and not the other when I tried to rotate pitman arm on it. BUT, thinking back it still had the caps on the ports so that prob created a vacuum so could...
Forgot to get a sheet. Calling align guy Monday.
I would say hardly any free play. Get resistance quickly with motor on or off.
The faster I drive the less wander i would say and the better it returns to center on a curve. Not perfect I would say but speed seems to help it.
When parked and I...
Got an alignment. Guy said it wanders.
I didnt drive hardly anywhere after my repairs and prior alignment and so I didnt pay much attention.
He says gearbox may be tight.
My research says caster? affects wander and the lack of steering to center properly after a turn.
Planning to contact...
