Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

That sounds awesome! If I did that I'd have to look up when putting my kid in his carseat!

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

My man what are you doing to your truck that you need an alignment every couple months?? I've owned a 2008 Cobalt for 16 years and it's gotten one alignment after I did control arms, struts, and lowering springs! To the others, marine grade never seez, great idea, just sad they missed out on...

Damn, there's a metaphor in there for everyone.

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

Apparently it's common for the bolt to rust into the bushing and become stuck and need to be cut out should a repair have to happen again. So the greasing in question shouldn't impact tightness since its not on the threaded area, its just on the area that get enclosed and seizes. Should I be...

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

Maybe give them a nice never seize paint job first where it goes in the bushing?

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

For the price i might buy a set and see what I think. Still open to discussion, won't be doing the repair until like April or May.

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

I feel that, that's why I'm going to do these control arms on my own. That and I'm a tight *** so for $600 and a weekend or two I'll gladly not pay 2k. That 1400 savings is like... three weeks of day care lol.

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

Dang, not what I wanted to hear. This is my dad mobile/tow rig, I'm keeping it basically stock. Gents what about using new bolts with OE cam plates? Also super impressive that you both do your own alignments that's a level of self reliance I don't possess.

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

I think I'd be more interested in stock grade replacement hardware and greasable bushings. Happen to know who sells those?

How much do you get from stock?

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

Oh dang I didn't even think about that. I figured it would just lubricate where the bushing is and wouldn't interfere with the tightness of the cam plate. Whole new fear unlocked lol!

Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

Hi all, Had to take the ride into a shop for some electrical work. While I was in there the shop found three out of four ball joints were going bad in the front. It's a semi rusty western NY truck, so I'm going to do upper and lower control arms. Moogs with the greasable ball joints. Shop owner...

Intermittent starting issue 2011 Yukon XL Denali

Really nice shop, not my normal but I'd work with them again. For the seats they suggested a new module. The one under the seat. Does that need to be programmed to the vehicle? I'm finding conflicting results.

Intermittent starting issue 2011 Yukon XL Denali

Updates. Truck went full no start. Would crank and crank but not start. Had it towed to a shop. They diagnosed bad relay to the PCM. Going to pick it up tomorrow. Side note, driver side heated seat stopped working. They found a burned wire in the pigtail under the passenger seat and 3 ohm...

Intermittent starting issue 2011 Yukon XL Denali

Lots of good material here. Haven't had the issue in a few weeks. I'm wondering if it's a bad ground somewhere. I sprayed the whole underside with Fluid Film Black (got the $100 woolwax gun off amazon and a gallon of FF, I highly recommend this process for trucks that see salt like we get in...

Well folks, get ready for this one. Went out today to look at the truck, Crack and no start twice. Fired third time but all warning lights on. Collected codes in pictures. Erased codes. All warning lights went away and idle returned to normal. Shut it down, started right up, no CEL, no warnings...

Intermittent starting issue 2011 Yukon XL Denali

Well all, my luck ran out. Had to jockey cars around the driveway today. Fired it up remote start. No issue. Ran for 10 minutes, shut down for an hour. Tried to remote start, nothing. Got in, turned key, fired right up but had a CEL. Code P1682. Cleared the code, moved the truck shut it down...

Also for those who have suggested I get a tech2. My dad gave me his Foxwell scanner. He used it like 10 years ago to diagnose a bad BCM on his 12 Sierra, so I'm hoping I have the necessary features to do what a tech2 would do. Will update as I use it.

While I have all this great attention, I'd like to ask, are there some good threads to read about AFM/DOD delete, Z95 suspension repair or delete, and spare tire usage on the AWD models? My current engine is strong but it's starting to let exhaust manifold bolts go. I'd like to get a used motor...

Starter relay was replaced, but I would like to carry a spare anyway. Does anyone have a part # for that relay?

Know of a good place to pick up a clone or a used real tech2? Might not be the worst idea to pick one up, I have an 08 cobalt as well it would work with.

I should rephrase. No lights as in no check engine lights. The dash lights up and everything works and looks as it should until key turns from run to start. Even remote start will put on the exterior lights, I can hear the fuel pump cycle, then no crank.... sometimes... more often then not so...
