Thats about right. We just had the officers deal with the noise till the first brake job. Then it got addressed with the new pads. Depending on the operator. We averaged just about 20k on fronts and 22k on the rears.
My kids keep asking my wife and about putting pushbumper on our 2500 sub. We say yes it be nice, then we so no because we would absolutely start ramming the idots that can't drive. Haha
That came out real good! I see it relocates the two inboard sensors to the pushbar. That gives me an idea on our police Setina bars. Was there enough harness slack to relocate the sensors or did you have to make extentions?
I have ranch hands on some f450 and 550's , they are both older and fleet trucks, so no sensors. Never seen one on a tahoe. They are nice and cover the headlights like you want.
I lnow this is an old thread. Just thought I would add some info. Not sure if it will help.
On our 2021+ ppv tahoes we replace the factory pads with Raybestos Police # SP2407PP for fronts and # SP2174APPH for rears. Available at O'Reillys. I dont recall cost of pads but I dont recall them...
We ran into this problem at the shop today and wanted to pass along our findings.
2021 ppv tahoe 5.3, 40k miles, starts and runs fine, no hesitation upon start up. Came in for preventative maintenance and instument cluster is dead. No lights, needles, no driver information center. No...
I am not sure about the door locks. That may be accessible through the dash and or radio controls. If the rear door panels have been eliminated and new smooth covers installed to work with a cage, it is possible the rear lock sensors were removed.
As far as the headlights, That all depends...
Hey everyone, I'm a Fleet Tech for a local municipality. The brake squeal in the gm ppv is not a new problem. We have delt with it in every gm police car since 04. The factory gm pads are just noisy and wear out fast. We deal with the sqeal until the 1st brake job and swap out to another...
Thank you! There are a bunch of nice aftermarket wheels out there, but I like using factory wheels. Changes the look and you know they will fit. The 2500 has a set of 07-08 17" silverado wheels on it and my 97 c1500 sub has a set of 96 17" Impala wheels.
I've had the 2500 for awhile now...
Hello all, been on and off boards for a while. Just want to share the new to me 05 Tahoe. Pretty stock so far minus the 20" snowflakes. Its an LT trim, pretty loaded 05. Pretty similar to my 04 2500 4wd suburban. This tahoe has captains chairs middle row. Pretty cool. Interior is pretty good...
I work for a local municipality. All our 21 and up tahoes have setina bumbers. As others have stated, get on the various sites and see what the options are. Look at mounting points. With some manufacturers, there is substantial grille modification needed to make the brackets fit. Others have...
I realize this is an older post. Just curios what did you ever figure out? I have a new to me 05 Tahoe. Abs, red brake light, and traction control lights on. No abs codes, but has p0856 torque cicuit, and no cumminication with ebcm. I have pulled the abs module, resoldered. It may still have a...
I would really look at the frames between a 2wd and 4wd. I just picked up an 04 4wd tahoe. Runs great and interior is mint. But came from Ohio and frame is totally shot. I have a wrecked 03 2wd Yukon I'm looking at doing a frame swap with. I had the same dilemma with add the IRS. It is labor...
Hey Guys I know this is backwards from the norm. The 6.0 in my 04 2500 Sub has engine noise and low oil pressure. 210k miles. I have a good 4.8 out of an 03 Yukon I was thinking of swapping to keep Sub on the road until I can afford to rebuild the 6.0. I know lit of work for swapping back and...
I agree with the other members. Check the basics first, scan tool, check for misfires, fuel pressure, and if have access check for technical service bulletins (TSB's). I vaguely remember seeing a TSB on random misfires that had to do with broken ground wires in the harness behind the drivers...
