I finished the project. Tstat and housing was readily available at the dealer. Didn't think of that because I typically refuse to get anything at a dealer.
If you are even considering this job... go for it, it's one of the easiest repairs.
I stuck with the radiator I was sold as the OEM...
Next Problem...
I can't find the GM or AC Delco Tstat anywhere in stock. are there other brands (NAPA or others) that are safe or am I safer putting the old one in?
My radiator came in from Radiator Express. I expected it to be 1 1/16 thick but it is only 15/16. Called them to check and he said it is as good as the original based on ISO specs. I typically think details matter but he said they are required to be as good as original. Thoughts? Am I being...
Thanks guys. I have an aftermarket cooler but not the true cool. Thinking of bypassing the radiator with the trans cooler so I’m not adding the engine heat to the trans. Do the Denali’s have the oil running through the radiator?
Towing today with my 2004 Denali xl 6.0. Radiator is leaking bad. Had it towed home. A radiator replacement is now required when I return from camping. Should I go with an upgraded radiator while I’m at it? Recommendations?
I tried 3 belts After 2 that I couldn’t get on I looked for a belt that was slightly longer. The 6k930 has an effective length 93.02 inches The belts they gave me at the store were just a bit shorter 92.5 or so
Continental Belt 4060930 did not fit.
I'm trying to replace my Serpentine belt on my 04 Denali 6.0. I've tried 2 belts and they both are really close but just a bit too tight to get on. Any Idea how I can find the correct belt length?
I forgot about this and the cooler went last week. I replaced it (even chose the ac delco part for more money) and the new coolerline is leaking. Can I bypass this for a few weeks until i get a chance to take the cooler out and take it back?
I know this has been discussed many times. Since the LED technology changes rapidly I believe it's fair to ask again. I resoldered some of my cluster to get back the brightness of the P1234 lights. I notice I have several lights that need replaced on the cluster. Is there an LED that can be...
thanks to all who shared the procedure for removing dash, instrument cluster and resoldering to fix the dim lights. I had a couple regular lights on the panel that are out. I’ll have to fix them next time. What bulbs are folks typically using?
I removed all the analog gauges and didn’t...
I know it’s been a long time (I don’t drive much but now I have a camper) but I had the trans pan dropped and the filter/fluid changed. Change the diff fluid and also the transfer case fluid. Now all the fluids are changed except the coolant. I’ll be taking a 5 hour trip with he camper in...
I finally finished min and added a diode for the 4hi mod. Also tied the relay to the high beams. So far it’s better but far from perfect. I had to mix parts from my stock headlights with the lights I had purchased. The end result is that my hid lights are tracking too low. When I raise...
I’m slowly working on this (a bunch of other things in life keep interrupting the process) Where have folks mounted the relays for the HID’s? Almost have the lights done and I’m looking to finish the wiring.
I’m going to make them work. Mounting holes are perfect so I’m going to dremmel the mounts until things fit flat then just a bit of silicone should fix the small hole that will be remaining.
What sealant did you use?
Well today I started the project. Figured I’d first try to install the TRS acme lights in my 04 Denali. Got things apart and got to the point of installing the acme hids. Seems that my cb&d brackets may have an issue with the acme lights. The lights will not lay flat on the brackets due to...
The chrome reflector is what I’m referring to as the bowls It was peeling badly in mine. I’m going to replace the complete projector assembly. I have everything to do it but just haven’t had time. I’ll send you full pics when I get to it.

They make several clamps for the GMC engine I’ve seen people that have said they are successful for years. I have 170k and don’t drive it a lot so I’d prefer not to remove the heads
I started hearing a tapping from the engine. Realized a couple manifold bolts have their heads broken off. Installed the Dorman manifold clamp 917-107
I tried for a while and couldn’t get the bolts into the back of the engine started. My son-in-law came by and took care of it in 30 minutes...
