Anything to due with the engine compartment and ecm grounds. I'm chasing a gremlin with this idle issue.

Nice! I actually installed the VMAX on my Tahoe. I put in a 383 and figured it needed to breathe better since the damn injectors are in the manifold. I did run into a big issue... The fuel lines will run right into the side of the distributor on the right side. It will prevent you from plugging...
The pressure control valve is located inside the pan. It had to be new when the replacement tranny was installed. It wasn't changed over from the last one.
BTW just replaced the VSS. No change in idle. The battle continues.
Thanks for the pressure theory and info.... but this was happening with the old tranny too. Which leads me to believe that maybe a sensor or solenoid from the old was transfered to the new? I'm thinking that I should unplug the tranny harness and see if the problem goes away then check pressures.
Hey thanks for the input. I bumped up the idle via the screw on the TB and nothing. I did elongate the holes on the TPS to adjust it and it resulted in a SES light with no improvement. I also replaced the computer with a stock tune and also have one with a BB tune.... all the same.

No vacumme leaks. TPS only goes on one way and IAC resets when key is turned froward. I am not aware of any adjustments for the IAC. Is there one? The idle barely drops when going from P to D
Hello everyone. Here is a problem for ya! The idle on my truck fluctuates in drive and reverse but not in neutral or park. In gear it's steady for a short time and then slowly goes up and down and then, goes up and down faster and faster until it starts to surge and then stall.

Ok I have done some research and the story is that I may have a vacumme leak at the intake gaskets. I read that if you plug up the PCV and you have vacumme at the oil dip stick then there is a leak at the intake gaskets. I did this test and Have vacumme there.

Hmmm I have been trying to find a solution and havn't come accross that. Only "kits" that have flexplates and a spacer to put between the block and tranny. Could you give a website link that you know of?

I went through this myself. If you get 1.6 ratio rockers, the vortec heads need to be machined for push rod clearance because they will hit slightly. I went with replacing the stapmed steel with the stock 1.5 ratio rollers.
Yeah I do have the spacer. I think using carb cleaner will increase the idle if there is a vacuum leak. I put that spacer on very carefully when the motor was on the engine stand but you can never tell. I'll check that out.

They couldn't even build one for daily driving. This was before I had the 383. Never even towed or beat on their POS rebuilt. I wouldn't even consider buying a tranny on LI anymore. IMO they all suck!
