    New owner...Picking up a 2003 Z71 Tahoe next week.

Good score! I think it was fair for the condition, miles, and Z71 package.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Love the look SRTH8R! Have you considered blacked out tail lights? Might set it off even more.

Service 4WD / Stability System Disabled

Thanks for the follow up. Sounds like it did some damage to the t-case which is what can happen when the encoder motor goes bad.

    Finding new dings/dents

Same here, exactly! Door dings and carts suck! ---------- Post added at 10:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:50 AM ---------- Btw, if you do have a good paintless dent repair guy in your area it's your best bet most of the time.

    Tires

If you want a good mix between MT and AT check out the Toyo RT's. Love mine! Very little road noise for such an aggressive looking tread.

Yea kinda sucks. Wish I had this info back in July when I first posted. I probably would have dug into it myself. Thanks tho!

Noise at first to second gear shift.

I was having a similar issue a few years back and it ended up needing a torque converter. Do you know if that was replaced when your tranny work was done?

    Service 4wd

Yup, started running it in 2WD and the noise went away completely. Used to hear it mostly while turning into on-ramps at higher speed.

    Service 4wd

I used to leave mine in auto all the time when I first had my truck. Starting noticing a noise and when I asked the dealer they said leave it in 2WD, not auto. I didn't realize there is still some engagement going on if you leave it in auto. I thought it only occurred in low traction situations.

    Crank keys all the way?

I'm keyed and leveled with Z71 springs (no spacers). I have 1 1/2" rear spacers I'd like to use, but of course the front needs to come up more. I have a lot of threads showing still on the key adjusters (3/4" to 1"). I've had 2 different shops tell me I will ruin the ride if I crank them...

Parking Brake works about less than half the time

My only issue was the short cable up by the pedal. It stretched and frayed and needed to be replaced. Per my mechanic the e-brakes can be damaged very easily by driving only a short distance while engaged. Maybe that happened? Unconfessing wife or other driver?

    n-Fab Step Bars

Well the first set the passenger brackets were not welded right. The second set was better, but still didn't sit just right to make it as solid as the driver side. Don't use the factory running board holes to install. Drill all new holes to make it sit as close to the body as possible and be...

    n-Fab Step Bars

Nope, those are as high and tight as they will go. Once you see the brackets you will understand. No adjustment on the steps either. Beware, I was not happy with the passenger side install. The bracket is different due to the rear AC lines that need to be cleared and NFAB didn't do a great...

    n-Fab Step Bars

Funny you posted this today. I JUST got these things installed yesterday after ordering way back in April. Big ordeal. Had to return my first set under warranty due to problems with the passenger side. Finally had a local shop install and I think I'm gonna run them for a while. I probably would...
