    Torque App

I'd like to start a discussion to learn more about this app. I want it primarily for the transmission temp gauge. It would be a good interim solution for me while I'm towing until I can upgrade my cluster someday. Besides the paid version of the app what else do I need to make it work? OBD...

    Lighting Options

Yea I was back and forth between spot and flood when I bought those. After reading lots of reviews I opted for the flood in the end. The only place you're really gonna get to use them is back roads and rural areas and I'd rather have better visibility towards the sides of the road. After...

    Lighting Options

Rigid makes awesome lights, but waaaay overkill and not necessary imo. I went with these, super cheap and work great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IY3YLCI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Fleece Performance makes a nice part for the 4 on HI mod, priced right too...

    Lighting Options

If you just want a basic upgrade over stock check out the Depo projectors. They are pretty popular and even with the stock bulbs are a nice upgrade. I put a set of LED cubes to replace the factory fogs and with the 4 on HI (actually 6 on HI) mod I have PLENTY of light especially in rural areas...

HELP!!! 04 black hoe 6.0 issues

Sometimes it's easy to jack a plug wire while installing or disconnecting. Maybe change wires on those cylinders or at least check them and ohm them out.

    Throttle body cleaning

Thanks for the vid link. Wondering about the drive by wire throttle bodies. Do I need to worry about moving the throttle plate? I've seen videos where they are left connected and moved to full open by turning the key on and holding pedal WOT.

    Throttle body cleaning

I've done quite a bit of searching and watched a few videos, but haven't seen too much info related to our specific engines. It's pretty straight forward stuff, but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips? Should I remove the throttle body or is cleaning still attached ok? What about the IAC...

    Suggestions for CAI?

Here's some good testing data... http://blackbearperformance.com/IntakeTestResults_2016.asp I'm running a K&N FIPK (plastic intake tube version) and have been happy with it.

    Different type of exhaust

Think about the soot too. Might not be an issue, but something to think about. Otherwise I dig your idea!

    Radiator coolant change

Another tip...replace the factory hose clamp on the lower radiator hose with a regular stainless hose clamp. It will make removal and installation MUCH easier. I hate fiddling with those factory spring clamps!

    Seat creak

Only when occupied/weighted. Thanks I'll see if I can get a wrench on the bolts!

    2000 Tahoe Water Pump Replacement

I would just monitor it for a week or two and make sure the tank stays topped up.

    Ball Joints and CV angles

Not to threadjack...but hopefully related. I'm keyed running 33's, but I've been considering cranking my bars just a bit more since it seems to sit a hair lower in the front than I like. Where can I measure to know I'm not going too far as far as angles? Thanks.

    Seat creak

I've had a pretty nasty sounding seat creak from the passenger seat for some time now. You can hear it when taking off from being stopped or breaking/accelerating. Anyone know what usually causes this and the fix? Hoping it might be as simple as tightening a few bolts? Thanks!

    Tune Up

Gap should be .040, but platinum or iridium plugs should already come pre-gapped. Don't worry too much about torque on the spark plugs it's doubtful you'll be able to get a torque wrench on all 8 anyhow. Just snug them down and tighten another 1/16 of a turn. There is no crush washer on these...

    Radiator coolant change

I just finished servicing the coolant within the last week. A tip given to me and I'll pass along is just to pull the lower radiator hose when draining. It's much easier, drains faster, and you'll get more old coolant out. I drained, filled with distilled, heat cycled, drained...repeated that...

    Coolant change question?

Thanks for the tip I was looking at the lower hose as an option too. Thought maybe the the petcock would be cleaner as far as drain spills, but if I'll drain more from the lower hose so be it.

    Coolant change question?

Yea that's what i figured I'd do. Was just curious so I know what to expect. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

    Coolant change question?

Gearing up to change coolant soon. Book says the system holds 16.7 quarts (roughly 4 gallons). I plan to drain the radiator using the drain petcock then refill with distilled water, cycle system, drain again, repeat until clear/water only, then refill with straight dexcool. What I'm wondering...
