    New guy here subwoofer question

The only problem with that box is 4.5" mounting depth and motor limited to 5" width. You can't really put anything good in there.

I haven't posted any publicly, the prototype motor should be here this week, I may just wait till then when the sub is built to show it.

A little update on the Ermagerd v2: The prototype motor should be here in 2 weeks, it is now patent pending as well.

    EMF Audio brand subwoofers

Oddly enough, the Ermagerd is now discontinued pending replacement by a version 2 I put on paper today actually. We do still have another line of sub, the YOLO, that will be back in stock soon and I will be doing another photoshoot as well.

    Long time no post

I haven't been around here in a while and I'm going to try to make more effort to post updates to this section. So, here's where we're at now: The second run of our YOLO line will be arriving late January. http://www.emfcaraudio.com/yolo-series/ They're aimed at SPL but there is a musical...

    Audio upgrade

http://www.emfcaraudio.com/audio-technix-at400-1d/ There's your winner right there. Perfect for what you've got and give you good power down the road when you upgrade.

    Audio upgrade

Unless your amp has high level inputs, you'd have to convert it to low level, and you'll want to do that at the factory amp input signal. There are no preamps on the factory HU.

    Audio upgrade

In addition to is a bad idea. There is phasing, possible time delay, and frequency overlap to deal with that may just not sound great. Besides that, you may not even be able to hear the factory one so there would be no audible gain. Adding an amp to the factory sub will probably lead to you...

Yes, 12v output would be for anything you want to be powered by 12v when the HU turns on. That should be used for the onstar harness. The mute wire is not used in most applications.

    static/popping from speakers

Sounds like it's the HU, that's where all those sounds come from.

    Anyone sell wiring?

Believe it or not, some people actually need 200ft rolls for their cars.
  19. E

    Need help

You can do a regular one I believe, it will just eliminate Onstar functionality.

    Anyone sell wiring?

I sell wire, but the speaker wires spools I sell are much much longer.

    Drain on battery

How much of a drain is it? It could be a faulty alarm, the HU, an amp, the alternator.......

There are a few ways to achieve a double DIN, some look good, some look bad. I would do it the right way and replace your dash bezel and bucket then mod the bezel to fit the climate controls or mod the climate controls to fit the bezel. The wiring harness isn't what you have to worry about.

    Audio upgrade

If you want more bass, you're gonna wanna disconnect the factory sub and add a different sub all together. You can replace the factory sub with a different one and add an amp, but it will only be a marginal gain.
  24. E

    Alternator thoughts

That's not that much in the grand scheme of things. You have a 105 amp now right? A 145 amp reman will probably be OK. You can't go wrong with a high output, just may not be necessary. DC Power makes some basic ones for $300 that are 185 amp and stronger at idle I believe. That would...

    static/popping from speakers

    That would be grounding yes.
