Sounds like I should get motor mounts ordered then.
Maybe I should order a clamp kit too for the manifolds just in case? Where can I find them?
I’ve got a map torch, helicoils and a welder in my arsenal, so hopefully I can deal with most eventualities that way.
I’m about to replace the crusty exhaust manifolds on my 07 Esky. I can see the drivers side one looks like it should be easy to replace with the manifold out? Is this correct, and if so is the passenger side also easy to remove with no manifolds to get in the way?
Ah I see, I just assumed that it was like the (slightly newer) camaro’s and corvettes I’ve owned that had ecu’s which could deal with boost.
Maybe there’s a piggy-back ecu solution?
Is anyone running one of these cheap turbo kits on their trucks?
I need to replace my headers and exhaust as they’re rusted out, and for the cost of those parts I could buy this and just run like 4# boost on a small intercooler.
Yeah I’m going to run those little extenders on the rear o2’s for the moment to make sure I don’t get any codes. I did used to have hptuners but sold it with my vette a few months back. I might need to buy that again.
Hey doubeleive, I just wanted to say a tentative THANK YOU for directing me to blocked cats as a cause.
I couldn’t do a back pressure test, so instead I pulled the exhaust off (what a mission that was). The cats actually looked visually fine, but as I broke 3 studs in the process, and because I...
Interesting you should say that as I was laying awake last night thinking I should check the cats because the previous owner drove the car for a LONG time with dead 02 sensors...to the point he disconnected the CEL.
I noticed this discrepancy in the post-cat readings for the left and right bank...
So I just smoke tested the intake etc and the only thing that showed any sign of leaking was the oil filler spout. It wouldn’t sit properly so I removed it and put the soul cap directly on it instead
I doubt this is the cause, but I’ll take it for a test and report back
I've put in new plugs, wires and coils (just for general maintenance). The old plugs looked fine, but possibly a little like the car was running on the lean side (like the codes suggest). I'm gonna smoke test the intake later today to look for any leaks but I have a feeling that if its only...
As far as I can tell I still have all of the exhaust bolts. However the manifolds look like the titanic with big chunks of rust flaking off.
I’ve held a piece of paper all around the manifold while the engine was idling to see if a slight leak could be detected, but there was nothing. I may try...
The only other odd thing I've noticed is that my H02S Bank 2 Sensor 2 stays at a value of around 300mv, whereas the Bank 1 Sensor 2 is steady around 700mv. That said, these are post-cat sensors so shouldn't play any part in the engine fuelling right?
B1S1 and B2S1 jump between 99-800mv
I purchased an 07 Esky a few weeks back and managed to get a bit of a discount as it had a CEL due to failed o2 sensors (heater circuit codes - P0030 P0050 P0053 P0059). I just figured that it needed some new o2 sensors, so I went and replaced all 4 with genuine Bosch items from rockauto. This...
Thanks guys, I will get some new shocks and springs. Have any of you done the electic suspension delete and just gone with arnott stuff? If so, how did it ride?
Hey all, new here and have just purchased an 07 Esky with 80k miles. The ride is pretty bad, feels somewhat uncontrollable and harsh. I looked at the front shocks to try and get an idea if they were original but I can’t find any date codes and even the P/N doesn’t bring up any results on google...
