Yes, I know all that…what I was asking was if they salesman was bullshitting me saying the ‘Denali trim‘ was on constraint.
It appears he was or is just an idiot, either way it’s frustrating when the buyer knows more than he does. On a slightly plus side, his name is Luke Skywalker…seriously I...
My suspicion here is the dealer chose to use an allocation for retail stock vs retail sold orders in waiting. What proof or recourse do I have? Zero aside from having them refund my deposit and getting in line at some other ****** GM dealer for the cycle to continue.
Im a fairly patient man...
My dealer who I placed a deposit with in March just told me the entire Denali trim is on constraint and they can’t order any of them regardless of allocations.
Are they full of shit?
Put a deposit on a Denali at a dealer here in central NC at supplier pricing. Was #4 in line and similar to what was shared above, they are getting 1 Denali allocation per month, which put me around July for my turn...which could be on the edge of moving to a 2024 model year.
I have looked at that package a few times. It is expensive but part of that kit's cost is in getting new OEM trim pieces that you then replace your parts with. They also paint most of the pieces vs vinyl.
I have been doing to research on vinyl DIY and may give it a shot before paying a shop...
In prep for my Denali, i reached out to get an estimate for chrome delete locally here in Raleigh. Was quoted $2500 for everything except the grille center, all done via vinyl. High, perhaps?
Also, what's the expected longevity of vinyl wrap?
As of last week I was told by the inventory manager at Hendrick in Durham, NC that no items on my build were under constraint - max tow is one option my configuration included. Mine is a Denali with 6.2l so ymmv.
Placed an order today for a Denali 4x4 6.2l trim with max tow, air ride and some other random options (2nd row bench, GMC puddle lights, etc.). I am 4th in line at my dealer and the inventory manager (person who does their ordering) let me know they have been getting on avg 1 Denali allocation...
For whatever reason, both the supplier and regular GMC build tools require the Advance Tech package if adding the Premium Capability Package. It will let me add air ride but then requires 22s...air ride is a must as I will tow a 23' center console and car trailer occasionally.
Only edit to this - the Z71 package comes with HD surround but for the AT4 to get that it requires the tech package ($1150), but yes the extra money on the Yukon seems a no brainer, especially for the vented seats!
I might just say fock it and get this —> Denali build
@todayusay great perspective, thanks for sharing. Yes, we prefer the second row bench over the buckets - only one child (no more), grandparents and dog so we liked having the extra room in the back with the 3rd row folded down and the 2nd row bench keeps the dog in her space.
@steiny93 i keep...
I do like the interior of the Denali the best and the cost of it over the AT4 / Z71 isn't a deciding factor, but we have a 3 year old boy that is not easy on things and having the nice Denali interior seems like a waste. We also have a chocolate lab that travels with us so I would feel less...
Both optioned with mag ride, eLSD, air suspension and 6.2L.
Yes, added Premium plus package on the AT4 that gets the power assist steps. I will need to check with the dealer to see if power assists can be added to the Z71 (build tool didn't allow it).
Nice call out on the laminated...
I am finally ready to place an order for a new SUV and found a local dealer that gets allocations regularly, will do supplier pricing and doesn't require extra BS to pad the price. Now I just need to decide which trim to go with.
I have narrowed it down to two choices, either this Z71 or AT4...
