Whipple's like the spark plug gap smaller. I've heard that the larger the gap, the more chance it gets blown out before a complete burn. Mine ran a lot better after making the gap smaller. Also, watch out for detonation and make sure you have plenty of fuel pressure.
I can get 21mpg on the highway in a 04 Duramax Crew Cab 4x4, but only 17 in the city. My 07 Denali is no where close. To get good mileage in a big vehicle, it needs a turbo diesel.
