    Hesitating to Start

I was able to view the video. It took "a little" longer to crank, but not that bad honestly. Your next step would be to check fuel pressure with a gauge. It could be the pump, but could also be the FPR.

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

@OR VietVet I was actually thinking of replacing that oil cooler housing on our 3.6. It's got like 91k and I haven't seen any leaks (yet). I looks like the Dorman upgraded all-metal is the way to go? Anything else that should be done while the intake manifold is off? I've replaced the...

    strutaeng's 04 2500 4x4 project Suburban

Thank you! I was really second guessing myself there after the sanding and sanding... But it was worth it! In other less exciting news, my driver's side rear door window started dropping several weeks ago. I bought the window regulator assembly and when I popped the door panel, there was this...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yes. It's a 2k high solids clear with UV protection.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I cleared these yesterday...just reinstalled them. Not bad, eh? I wonder if I should do the rear taillights on the suburbans now?

    strutaeng's 04 2500 4x4 project Suburban

Not too shabby... I took it around the block. The 6.0 LS rips. :) Big milestone for me, actually. I need to hunt down the roof rack mounting pads next.

    Dome Light and switch

Unplug the switch from the back and see if that turns off the lights, then you'll know if it's the switch or something else.

    strutaeng's 04 2500 4x4 project Suburban

I applied the clearcoat. Deflating the tires made a HUGE difference. Then the dark clouds started to roll in. I had to unmask the plastic in a hurry, reinflate the tires and moved it to our front carport... literally just minutes before the rain started falling. I also cleared my Silverado...

    strutaeng's 04 2500 4x4 project Suburban

I was able to do the basecoat yesterday. It had rained overnight but later we got sun and it warmed up. But then the wind picked up, LoL. And my trees were dropping leaves. I was kinda pissed TBH. Anyways the base turned out ok. I had some "tiger stripes" after the second coat, but I did a...

    Reliable Gas Engine Years?

You mean the lifter failures associated with the AFM/DOD in the Gen IV? Yes, seems like those engines have an increased chance of having a lifter issue but it tends to be related to lack of maintenance (but not always.) You can delete that system, however, which basically reverts your engine...

Need opinions on a fair price

Looks pretty clean. Good luck with the sale. Is it a 4.8 or 5.3? I assumed you made a typo on the "5.8"?

Ok for the vehicle to idle for 3-5 hours?

Why don't you buy a generator if it's a reoccurring thing? Excessive idling is not too good in general, although it's probably worse if you are stuck in traffic than in your case. I otherwise don't know the answer TBH.

    strutaeng's 04 2500 4x4 project Suburban

I was finally able to apply 2k sealer to the roof since the weather warmed up a bit. It's kinda of beating trying to reach the middle with a gun full of paint leaning over a ladder. We have some chances of rain tomorrow... we'll see...

2004 Tahoe LT died while driving

Find a different shop. 6 weeks to diagnose and they have 2 possible "we THINK it's XYZ"?! That's ridiculous. I would imagine this is more or less a 3-4 hour diagnosis task. These vehicles are incredibly easy to work on. About as easy as it gets to be honest compared to any modern vehicle...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finished my 6.0 LS engine I started building over 1 years ago! Installed pushrods, rockers and valve covers. L96 block with Gen III reluctor and the associated mods to run it on a Gen III vehicle or ECU. I had originally planned to swap it into my 99 Silverado, but the 5.3 I swapped (from the...

    daytime running lights sensor?

The 00-02 SUVs (99-02 trucks) don't have that option. I like the later option. I've never thought to see if you can swap a later in an earlier truck switch? May be different wiring/harness? IDK

    daytime running lights sensor?

I replaced it on my 99 Silverado NBS. I think I used some needle nose pliers to get back there? On my 06 Suburban the little hole where that sensor goes is empty. Not sure if it fell down (probably?) I should take time to take care of that...

    Brake pedal squeaky when cold

Thanks. I guess the problem is I can't really figure out what's causing the noise. It's pretty annoyingly tight down there. Last night I removed the kick panel just to see what I could see, LoL. I was originally wondering if I could replace the pedal with a non-motorized version, thinking maybe...

    Brake pedal squeaky when cold

My brake pedal is once again squeaky when I press it. It's been doing it for several years now, but only when it's like low 40s or below. Once the interior warms up, noise is gone. I've gone down there spraying with liquid wrench, but I haven't been able to make it stop. I do have the adjustable...

2003 Yukon Speakers went dead then battery drained

Yeah, 100 mA is high. You are correct it should be 50 mA or less. You need to do voltage drop across the fuses to find out which circuit is producing this draw. On your cluster, what did they fix? Stepper motors? The issue causing parasitic battery drains is the non-leaded solder that breaks...
