Another thought. Fans are electric these days. Our 2004 Cadillac SRX started overheating in stop-go traffic (big city interstate type stop-go) but would be fine the rest of the time, back home at smaller city traffic. Turned out it was the fan not running at low speeds but fan was running...
How warm is the ambient temps when you're seeing this? 70F is one thing, 100F is another perhaps.
I'm no mechanic but in my experience, it should hold steady once it reaches the top temp. Seems like a competent auto-shop can answer this question definitively. I like the advice above to...
Did you get that ear-splitting screech (alarm?) when you disconnected the negative terminal? or is this just me and my 2021. It's not mentioned in the youtube.
Yes, one of the 1st things I did was put in a brand-new battery as my experience has been ~5yr life spans for my 2004 Cadillac SRX and 2011 CTS. I wanted to start the clock fresh on this used Yukon purchase because who knows about previous battery and so I can be extra alert in year 4-5.
In the FOB - yes, the 1st 2 times I got the message I immediately changed the battery. This was within a 6 week time frame. Now, I just ignore the message as a battery should last a couple of years.
Glad to hear it! and sounds like 'low battery' havoc until we get a better theory.
Following with interest, thanks for posting. I bought used 2021 Yukon with 49K miles a year+ ago and when I first got it, discovered the battery pulls after only 4-5 days and when I tried to start.... it nudged/didn't start, but the electronics/messages on console when CRAZY!! Thought I'd...
We bought used 2021 little over a year ago with 49K (a Hertz rig) and 6.2L. Have towed 7K miles so far and all working smoothly. Added a curt brake controller and auto-stop. And... it still has that 'used car dealership smell' :) (strong air-freshener spray they used at the dealership)
Yes, the one I got was the same Curt Front Mount #31088. And it looked to me like the bolt holes were there but the auto-shop that installed it was sooooo jumpy about it (not sure why) from beginning to end of the project. They insisted on spot weld rather than use bolts / said they didn't...
We have a 2021 Yukon Denali with NT420V tires - https://www.nittotire.com/suv-cuv-tires/nt420v-luxury-truck-suv-tire/
And our ride is reasonable / pleasant noise wise. It's comparable / maybe a little better than our 2004 SRX Cadillac and 2011 CTS.
I found this youtube for 21/22 Yukon that shows
1) Disconnect Parking brake actuator wiring at the wheels
2) Use a wrench to turn a shaft sticking out of transmission a bit and zip tie it in that position to hold it
and then you're in neutral to push it etc. Looks legit but I don't know...
WOW - Found the tool from the bulletin but out of stock - https://www.freedomracing.com/dt-52910-manual-park-release-tool.html
Crazy... no way to push a car out of the way of traffic if it dies or tow or x, y, z Seems like it should be easier to go to neutral with a dead engine.
Well, I'm...
I bought a used 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2L / 10speed. It has D | N | R of course.
If I could ask a bit more about this...
Could you explain a bit more what happens when "N" is pushed - does it require the engine to run to shift into Neutral? or just electrical / the transmission shifts...
Yes! It's hard to quantify by annecdotal experience but we built out a 7 x 14 cargo trailer -> camper with kitchen in front and garage in back but 'only chairs' in the middle over the wheels. So even though the overall weight is 5300lbs and tongue is 650lbs (within recommendations) we get...
Nice! Have you used yours?
Do you have any details as to what they used? Did they adapt something or create something or is there something that can be purchased now? Just curious.
Agree it gives *tight/precise* control + driver visibility when pushing around a left corner (my use...
We bought a used 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2L a year ago to tow our 7 x 14 Cargo Trailer -> Camper conversion. It weighs 5300lb with 650lb tongue weight. Didn't have towing package or air suspension so added a Curt brake controller and we need the WDH due to poorly balanced trailer. The WDH...
Just a nuance as it only occurs immediately after a full (hard) stop for 1-2sec till smooth idle. Would have to stop, and then immediately punch it within 1sec to see if it had any affect on mobility and haven't tried that.
I have a 2021 Yukon with 6.2L and 55K miles - bought used 1 year ago.
It idles with a pleasing purr/rumble and haven't noticed any noises/vibrations/power-issues while driving except...
When coming to a full stop, the engine seems to sputter a bit (like it' needs a tune-up / going to die)...
I have a 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2L and recently was successful in prodding my local auto-shop to install a front receiver. They don't make one for 2021+ Yukon so I bought one for a 2021 Seirra 1500 6.2L and it fit well-enough. The driver's side frame was OK but the passenger side frame had a...
Addressing the OP's swaying/rough ride comment....
My 2021 Yukon wobbles/lumbers a bit at low speed - maybe it's normal - but you can visibly see the steering wheel move a bit so it's not just 'in my mind'. We bought a used 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2L a year ago and love it. We mostly tow...
I was successful getting a 2" front receiver installed on my 2021 Yukon Denali. They don't make one you can just buy but was successful getting a 2021 Sierra 1500 to install - see the last 2 posts on this thread for pics and details -...
We bought a used 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2 with 49K miles on it from Hertz - e.g. likely had all maint done. Driven a year and 5,000 miles so far with no issues. Maybe if it has a good history and has significant miles it's a good omen that the lifter issues are not a big concern? We're...
Final pics - the receiver 2" tube/body is ~8" off the ground - same as the metal pan plate under the engine - so no loss of ground clearance.
Ordered a 12" hitch (from pin to center of ball) to get the ball to stick out far enough for clearance around the ball without banging into the bumper...
Some good news to report, getting my front hitch! My custom fabrication guy just didn't have time so...
I bought a 2021 Sierra 1500 hitch from etrailer.com - https://www.etrailer.com/new_review.aspx?oid=120641424&ouid=586EB8D1-E31D-4B1C-8A2C-8D89757BA9CA - on the thought that the frame for a...
