    Yea, that's what I have been doing so far. Every once in a while though I will run it in between 1/2 and 1/4; then I'm stranded somewhere.

    For the pressure gauge and ignition tester, are those both items that I would be able to rent or borrow from an AutoZone or other parts store?

    I actually filled it up today; tank read low fuel and on empty, it took 23.3 gallons. So it was fairly accurate, giving it some buffer. I know you shouldn't run it that low, but now I know the gauge is within 1-2 gallons accurate.

    I am not sure about the gauge cluster or sending/receiving unit, but when I fill it up, it corresponds with the amount needed. Like, half a tank, it takes 12-14 gallons to get it full, so I assume it's fairly accurate. Is there any way to test it, other than filling it up and seeing if it...

    I have a '03 Tahoe Z71 5.3L Flex Fuel and it will not start under 1/4 - 1/2 tank sometimes. It doesn't matter on the temperature or anything, it just sometimes starts and sometimes doesn't when under 1/2 tank. I have read in other threads that this could be due to the fuel pressure regulator...
