Need an opinion about a fuel pump.

Also, be warned: Rock Auto had the wrong AC Delco part listed for my '03 Flex 5.3L. Hence the aforementioned second swap. The first one was slightly different, still fit, pumped fuel and ran the engine but the computer didn't like the pressure sensor on the module and threw a CEL. Got the...

Need an opinion about a fuel pump.

I also probably wouldn't change it preventatively, especially not with a non-OE part. Not sure if the job is any different between an NBS and NNBS but it was about a 3 hour job the first time I did my '03 but about a 45 min job the second time. It gets significantly easier the second time around.

    Wrong fuel pump?

My fuel pump went out on my '03 Yukon XL SLT, 5.3L Flex Fuel. I went on RockAuto and the OE pump that they specified was ACDelco MU1323 which I ordered and installed before I noticed there was a slight difference in the 4 pin square connector which includes +/- for the pump and +/- for the fuel...

Soft Brakes & Poor Stopping Power

Soft Brakes & Poor Stopping Power If you don't have hydro boost then that recall doesn't apply. I don't have hydro boost and my brakes suck on my '03. Everything is in proper condition and I've bled and re-bled the brakes with a vacuum bleeder. The brakes on that generation just have a...

OE cross Over pipe/cats with 100k or replace with aftermarket Walker equivalent

I ended up ordering the Walker pipe to have on hand. Once the OE pipe was removed I was able to get a good angle and good torque on the thread chaser to get the treads in good enough shape to hold the sensor with appropriate torque. I removed the remaining 3 sensors without incident with my...

OE cross Over pipe/cats with 100k or replace with aftermarket Walker equivalent

So, I had a bad O2 sensor heater on my '03 Yukon XL 4x4. Pre-cat, driver's side. Easy fix and I've changed them on other vehicles before without issue. Well, this time the threads for the bung came out with the O2 sensor. I need a helicoil or a new bung because there's too much thread...

Keys + Bilsteins Front, 2" Spacers + Extenders on OEM Nivomats Rear

You got everything right except there are no "sensor rods" for the Nivomat shocks. They're self contained and not electronic. If you're talking about AutoRide then yes you'd need to somehow lengthen those rods.

XL - Anyone Lift or Level?

Here's mine'n: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52533 I think all Denalis have air ride in the back though which you'll have to figure out how to deal with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lift questions

I'm guessing this is a 2wd based on your username (z56) and the fact that most (all?) tahoes with the z56 police pursuit vehicle package are 2wd. If it is 2wd then there are no cv joints therefore you only have to worry about control arm and steering angles. The knuckles will take care of...

    Seat control issues

003 Yukon XL, 86,000 miles So, for a while now I've had the typical bizarre seat control behavior that needs to be addressed by a seat module software update by the dealer (PIT3598). Some times the forward/reverse on the driver's side didn't work and sometimes it was reversed (i.e. push forward...

Small lift for the wife's daily driver?

That's a good price on those shocks. Hopefully when I need them I'll come across something similar vs. the $400ish for new ones. My experience with my Nivomats is that they allow for about 3/4-1" of suspension sag before they start attempting to level out the load. I mention this because if...

    suspension noise?

Have a large friend stand in the driver's side doorway and rock your vehicle as violently as he (or she?) can while you carefully stick your head all around the area and look/listen/feel. If they can't reproduce the noise then have an additional friend stand in the rear doorway and bounce it...

Small lift for the wife's daily driver?

That would definitely work and has been done. Even though the nivomats are around $400 for the pair (if I'm remembering correctly) new ones would probably be quite a bit cheaper and easier to install than springs plus bilsteins plus helper airbags. Unless I was towing something with a very...

    Straight Axle swap

There was an Xtreme 4x4 episode on a solid axle swap on a full size Blazer but it was the previous generation (Obviously since it's called a Blazer). http://www.powerblocktv.com/episodes/XT2011-03/full-size-blazer-part-one http://www.powerblocktv.com/episodes/XT2011-06/full-size-blazer-part-2...

Picked up an unmolested Yukon XL 4x4 and want to molest it

Small lift for the wife's daily driver?

Re: Retaining the Nivomats I've done it with 2" spacers and 2" shock extenders and it's worked fine for the last 7+ months or so. I tow with mine too. The extensions effectively adjust the neutral point of the shocks in accordance with the new higher ride height provided by the coil spacers...

    Autoride 03 yukon 4x2

First, on a 2wd I'd do spindles rather than keys. They maintain your factory suspension geometry and ride better than keys will. They aren't an option (Without other provisions included in a whole "lift kit") for 4x4 so that's why you don't see as much written about them on their own. The...

Hot/burning wax/plastic smell from vents on startup

I haven't been on the forums in a while but FWIW I ordered the "ACDelco 15-80567 Control Module Kit" I mentioned above, swapped it in and it resolved the issue. My blower speed is consistent now (When not on "Auto") and the smell is gone. It was not "plug and play" though. The plug on the...

Picked up an unmolested Yukon XL 4x4 and want to molest it

I done molested her a bit back in June: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52533 Not much, just enough to make it a little less "Soccer Mom". No suspension or drive train issues thus far. I've had a plethora of little electrical and gadget issues though (Obviously...

Hot/burning wax/plastic smell from vents on startup

So I pulled what I thought would be the resistor and it was actually a completely different piece than what I expected. Based on a quick search it appears to be a "Control Module": http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-15-80567-Control-Module-Kit/dp/B0016IMSB4 I saw/smelled no evidence of burning on...

    another autoride question.

Quit worrying about it and do it. :peace: It looks like there is some adjustment on those links. Pull one end off and see if you can screw the ball socket in some more. If that works it would be reversible if you didn't like the results. It might wear your springs a bit more over the...

2006 tahoe ls 4x4 w/ ranch hand rear bumper sags

Look at your "Service Parts Identification" sticker in the glove box. Do you see ZW7 in that list of codes? Then you had Nivomat rear shocks. They're self leveling (NOT the same as AutoRide) shocks that are noticably larger in diameter than "normal" shocks. They do bear some of the weight on...

Hot/burning wax/plastic smell from vents on startup

The AC Delco part I linked in my first post is apparently not the right one. 15-81086 is supposedly the correct one for my particular vehicle: http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-15-81086-Auxiliary-Blower-Resistor/dp/B000NW6WE8 I'm considering just buying the Dorman equivalent though. It's cheaper...

Hot/burning wax/plastic smell from vents on startup

I found the tsb/10 year warranty coverage for this issue. Unfortunately my vehicle was purchased in April of 2003. So, it just expired. Oh well, $50 is right at the point where I would have debated whether it was even worth pursuing through a dealer vs. just swapping in the part myself. I'll...
