Any resolution regarding onstar message?
My apologies for resurrecting an older thread, but I wondering if there was a resolution on this. I'm having the exact same problem with my 05 Tahoe. Drives me nuts! I pushed a couple of buttons to see if I could change the display on the rearview...

I'm looking to remove the crossbars on my 05 Tahoe and wonder if the process matches what's been posted here so far. Just remove the one screw and lift...
Hmmm ... okay, that makes sense. Although it makes the usefulness of a winch mounted in this manner very limited it seems. I was liking the concept (using either front or back 2" receiver - hadn't given enough thought to support / weight restraints.
BTW - I love the way the hidden winch...
Sorry for "reviving" this thread ... have an interest in mounting a winch on the front of my 2005 Tahoe and this thread caught my attention.
Followed the link to the front hitch product ... it lists the towing limit at 500lbs; would that limit the usefulness of being able to pull yourself or...
Yep - back window has the defroster, and Nope - no active button to turn it on. :shrug: So at one point something was swapped out it looks like. Bummer! Stinks not having a rear window defroster that works.
Thanks BirchyBoy ... yes, I have a defrost grid on the back window, HOWEVER, that button below the output control you've illustrated / mentioned is blank (no icon) in my vehicle and it doesn't actually depress or anything when you try to push it.
Hmmmm..... now I'm second guessing myself...
I'm embarrassed to ask, but it's driving me bonkers ... where is the location of the rear window defrost switch/button on a 2005 Tahoe?
My only saving grace (maybe) is that I can use the excuse that this is my first Chevy vehicle (coming from a Ford Explorer). Liking the Tahoe much better...
