Here I go resurrecting another older thread ... sorry. Not sure if it's better to post in an existing one that fits or create a new thread.
I'm looking to remove the crossbars on my 05 Tahoe and wonder if the process matches what's been posted here so far. Just remove the one screw and lift the cap? Here's a photo of what the rear cap looks like.
I'm a little nervous about removing that screw and then running into problems with an insert or something putting it back together.
Reason for doing all of this is the kayak racks I bought work "okay" on the OEM crossbars but not quite as snug as I'd like them ... so I'm going to install some 3rd party (Malone) bars. Here's the load I'm carrying sometimes now.
