Thanks again for the advise. Going to pull it and try another one. Its getting worse and robbing power from truck now...Sounds like it should when you need to replace it...must be a dud.
Thanks for the advise...I just feel like it should be bled by now...going to try it again in the morning and see if I can get more air to come out. So far the fluid level is staying consistent and I'm not seeing air bubbles anymore...after I will drive it but if its whining like it is now I will...
I did have engine on in between to check fluid but not when I was turning the wheel to bleed...Im pretty sure the air is out because I am getting a smooth consistent wheel turn, no jitters or anything like that but its whining pretty loud. Is it possible I got a bad pump? I talked with the...
Thanks...no hydroboost on this one...just getting sick of this dragging on. I want to be done with it...Do you know how long this supposed to take? How many time I should have to turn the wheel back and forth? I did it like 20 times last night and Ive done it 5 times already today...its easier...
Will check that clamp up for sure, could it be sucking air there? ... I re-bled it again this morning and got a huge burp of air come through the fluid... Should I give it a few days of driving and see if it improves? I have put a quart of fluid in so far, minus what I lost when it burped this...
Do you know how to bleed power steering? After install I filled it to in between hot/cold markers then proceeded to turn wheel to the left, then to the right. It was my understanding that this is the correct way but I did like 20 times and its still whining, still turning hard and throwing air...
Thanks for the replies, I guess my sarcasm does not translate as well over the computer. I have a puller/installer kit for power steering pulleys. I just wasn't sure if it was some new type of shaft without threads...This Yukon is the newest thing I own so I'm learning very quickly why I like...
Thanks for the reply. Im pretty sure now that it is supposed to be threaded and has just rusted the threads away. Guess Im going to have to change over the pump...
Just got done doing valve cover gaskets. Had to remove a bunch of stuff, including the power steering pulley to get bracket moved out the way. My question is how do I get the pulley back on? I used a power steering pulley puller to get it off but the shaft is not threaded so I am lost. Am I...
Thanks...I asked only because I read a couple other threads with people claiming in these center fastened valve covers they always leak in the back and I thought maybe they made some other ones that might keep them better. I use felpro gaskets on other older motors that work fine...thanks for...
Thanks for the reply. It does have a gasket but GM does not sell it separately from the fill tube itself, it sells a unit...what a bunch of crap that is. It also appears I might have some leakage from the back of both valve covers...Could you recommend a good gasket to replace them with? Thanks...
Just wondering if anyone has a solution to oil leaking out of the oil filler tube where it meets the valve cover...Its not much but appears to be enough to make it smell inside the truck...I cant find anywhere else it would be coming from and its for sure not antifreeze smell...Any opinions or...
