    We've had others in the past as well. Both our '02 Tahoe and '01 Yukon rusted to death long before the motors were dead. We are trying to be really good about hitting up the car wash often with our newer ones, trying to avoid rusting again. One of the worst parts of living in Northern New England!

    Oh yes, I live in Maine so EVERYTHING ends up rusting here. I’ve had plenty of vehicles in the past where the motor outlasted the body.

    Unsure of the batteries age, but the volt gauge is around 14v or a little more. Is there any particular grounds that are the "typical" ones that need to be touched up? Or is it more check them all and good luck?

I only have the amp at about 2/3 power and when I crank the volume it legitimately hurts my ears from so much bass (electronic music, don't hate!).     Yes we taped the wire to a long flat blade screwdriver and forced it through from the interior to the engine bay. Took a few minutes but it does fit!

    As you put it, where the harness goes through under the drivers side dash. I have a 4ga power wire that we managed to push through next to the main harness. I'm unaware if there are any other options besides drilling. Nothing you didn't already know, but just helping confirm it.

    I was planning on replacing my headlight bulbs with non standard sets. Aside from legal issues, is there any danger to my harnesses from using 100 watt high beams and 80 watt low beams? Also, would it still be ok to use the 4 high mod? Thanks for your input.

    Oh it sounds terrible without it. Subs keep cutting out. I've fixed this once but clearly what I used wasn't enough.

    My wife's 02 Tahoe has similar dips in power, but not to the point of stalling. It was the belt tensioner. What the other have said seems more probable, but just another option if those turn out ok.

    Where the cage around the magnet is, you can see where they come together half way down the sides. That's the piece that detached. It is metal to metal I believe.
