We've had others in the past as well. Both our '02 Tahoe and '01 Yukon rusted to death long before the motors were dead. We are trying to be really good about hitting up the car wash often with our newer ones, trying to avoid rusting again. One of the worst parts of living in Northern New England!
My wife and I have four kids, all still in some variation of a car seat/booster. We use the Suburbatank as the family rig, and the Yukon is the "commuter" and back up family vehicle (3rd row yay!). We tried having and car instead of the Yukon and it just didn't work out for us. Our Suburban can...
They couldn’t replicate the error or get the vehicle to shut down. They didn’t want to replace the ecm because “it’s expensive”. Yeah, we all know that it’s expensive at a dealership. Charged me $99 for the diagnostics that I didn’t need done and told me to come pick it up. If it does it again...
Update: Dropped it off at the stealership, waiting to hear back from them. We bought it from them a week ago on their wholesale to the public lot. You can get a decent price but the issue with that is it comes with no warranty. They said they'd "work with us" on the cost. Can't wait to see what...
Unsure of the batteries age, but the volt gauge is around 14v or a little more. Is there any particular grounds that are the "typical" ones that need to be touched up? Or is it more check them all and good luck?
Hi all,
Just got a 2014 Yukon SLT (5.3 motor) Wednesday and it ran fine untll today. My wife was sitting at her Dad's shop to see why the check engine light was on earlier (O2 sensor apparently) when it just stopped running and threw errors about stabilitrak and a few others. He ran the scanner...
Hey all! Looking to replace my wife’s 02 Tahoe with an 07 suburban as our family needs the room. A local dealer has a nice one we’re looking at and has it listed as an LTZ. I ran the VIN through a decoder and it’s coming up as an LT, not LTZ. The vehicle has had the emblems shaved (so annoying)...
I have a Rockford Prime R500X1D 250Wx1 pushing my 12" L7. I only have the amp at about 2/3 power and when I crank the volume it legitimately hurts my ears from so much bass (electronic music, don't hate!). I wasn't sure if the amp would be enough, and I'm sure I could drive that sub much harder...
As you put it, where the harness goes through under the drivers side dash. I have a 4ga power wire that we managed to push through next to the main harness. I'm unaware if there are any other options besides drilling. Nothing you didn't already know, but just helping confirm it.
I was planning on replacing my headlight bulbs with non standard sets. Aside from legal issues, is there any danger to my harnesses from using 100 watt high beams and 80 watt low beams? Also, would it still be ok to use the 4 high mod? Thanks for your input.
I spliced 3 wires together: remote wire from stereo, remote wire from aftermarket harness, and the pink wire from the flat 9 pin connector. Once I wired in the pink wire, I haven't had a single issue since. To clarify, I was either getting full sound or none. All my speakers were blown, and once...
Bought these on clearance back in '07. Even if they would fix them, it would probably cost more in shipping than I paid for them! These bad boys weigh in at 22lbs each. I've already attempted this once, and didn't ruin them. It's a matter of what to use on aluminum for adhesive. I've got my...
My wife's 02 Tahoe has similar dips in power, but not to the point of stalling. It was the belt tensioner. What the other have said seems more probable, but just another option if those turn out ok.
Where the cage around the magnet is, you can see where they come together half way down the sides. That's the piece that detached. It is metal to metal I believe.
I have a set of Blaupunkt VW1200 subs. These things are monsters and have served me well for 7 years now. At 1200 watts RMS each, they have taken some abuse (as well as my ears). Recently the heat sinks detached from them. It's an easy fix, but curious what everyone thinks the best adhesive to...
I have a bad ABS sensor on mine, and it was causing the antilock brakes to kick on when I pushed the brake pedal (pulled the fuse for a temp fix). This isn't happening to him is it?
