    TPMS Sensors

I put these in last year. They worked fine. I’d buy them again. ROADFAR 315MHz Programmed Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor (TPMS) 13598771 13598772 13586335 Sets of 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JPLBCJP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_5SF9GH8ZT8FP5DQC50JS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

    Watchouts for buying a 2007 ESV 6.2?

Hi everyone. I currently have a 2007 Yukon XL 4wd (5.3l). I would like a bit better towing capability, so I’m looking at a 2007 Escalade ESV with the 6.2 and 6 speed transmission. Is this a smart upgrade? Anything specific to the 6.2/6speed that I should look at or be worried about? It...

    Price for rear gear swap?

2WD I assume? Sounds like you upgraded the carrier, which would make the price about right (Probably what you are calling the pumpkin). The GM G-80 locker has a sketchy reputation if you had that. I spent about 700 for bearings and an eaton traclok carrier for my 07, and I reused my...

    Price for rear gear swap?

Price at a good shop by me is about $300 labor plus whatever parts you choose. I still did my 07 myself.

    Good body repair stuff

Seams are tough to stop, but yes. I’ll throw another idea out. I have used clear epoxy from walmart for my door seam work in the past. Clear is nice because you can see through it and find recurring rust sooner. For this type of stuff, I use a dremel with a cutting wheel and keep grinding...

    Good body repair stuff

Exactly. Worry about getting it cleaned and sealed up good. Maybe find a good spot to mask to and shoot some black paint on it to hide it.

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

Yes, I reprogrammed with the the TIS2000 software and no internet connections. It was a bit of a guessing game on whether it would do it, what the deal is with the online subscriptions, etc. Apparently there are cal files on the TIS2000 CD, at least for older stuff. I had to search and find...

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

2AM and the Yukon is fixed. The Tech2 said the BCM was not communicating. I messed around for a long time trying to figure out whether I could program a new BCM. Many hours later, I had my old Windows XP machine pulled out of the attic and fired up. I needed a serial port and windows XP for...

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

Everything points to the BCM. I’m not seeing how to program a BCM with the tech2 though. Where do I start?

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

[emoji22] I’ll translate the fuse diagram back to the circuit description in the manual. That would make a bit more sense.

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

A little video... It is actually throwing a P1682 code, not P1685. Red circles have power all the time. Nothing changes in the Accessory key position. Yellow highlights have power in the Run key position.

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

Will do. I'm anxiously awaiting their arrival. I should have the Autel tomorrow and the Tech2 Friday. 2 days shipping for the Tech2 turned into 4 days. Oh well. Still poking away at my dead Yukon. Last night, I investigated the ignition switch. Seems to be working as it should. It is...

    Good body repair stuff

Chris, of course it is easier to pay someone else replace your rockers :), but if you are ambitious and handy, you can easily buy yourself a few years. Just covering it up won't last. If you aren't in a hurry, try a small spot and see how it goes. That's how I figured out what did and didn't...

    Good body repair stuff

Good point, it is essential that the two parts of the epoxy are used in the correct ratio and mixed well. In terms of using a tip or not, I don't see how the 8115 is any different than any other epoxy or paint or body filler that needs to be ratio'd and mixed. The mixing tips are handy...

    Good body repair stuff

The body panel adhesive is not like bondo putty. It is more like JB weld. That's really the point. It is indeed harder to work with, but it does sand and shape very well (just 10x harder than standard bondo / evercoat / etc). Most importantly, you can seal and prevent moisture from reaching...

    Good body repair stuff

Have you started yet? I've done a fair bit of rust repair with really good luck. My dad's 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee had majorly rusted fenders which I patched up a 3 years ago (3 new york winters). They still look great with no signs of returning rust. Waterproof, sealed, waterproof.... most...

How hot is your transmission with an aftermarket cooler?

I think I’m about 10 degrees lower on average with my bigger cooler. I kind of expected more. The only reason I went bigger was because I was pushing that 230 mark towing across I80 in PA. That’s a brutal route. Personally, I wouldn’t worry unless you start towing a big trailer.

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

Screw it. I bought them both. I picked a Tech2 from someone in NY that had good feedback on them, could confirm the software version, answered my questions promptly, and I’ll see it in two days. Gotta get this thing fixed. The kids are getting tired if riding in my ‘54 Chevy with no AC...

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

It seems so. I'll dig more tomorrow. It is hot as blazes today, and a big thunderstorm just started. Of course, my 5 garage bays are all full of other stuff, so I am working outside. First world problems, right? I'm going to order a Tech2 or something similar tonight. Any...

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

I have a new battery in it now, and it acts the same way. I didn't map out every fuse, but roughly half of the fuse box has power and half does not. Perhaps the BCM is supposed to turn on the ones that don't have power. It seems really odd to me that the 4 way flashers don't even work.
