Rocket Man's 2008 Bagged CC Silverado Build AKA "THE MACHINE"

I’ll be fighting for the next foreseeable future guys, it’s going to be a long haul they tell me. So forgive me if I’m not here much for the time being, I’ll be back more soon. I just need to change focus for awhile. :) The truck is being taken care of, I stopped by the other day. He’s my friend...

Looking to level my Tahoe with Autoride

I’m not one to ask on that- 02-14 is all the same I know. Others here will answer that question.

Looking to level my Tahoe with Autoride

No, you shouldn’t notice anything. It doesn’t change damper rates afaik. It’s so easy to try, it’s ridiculous. Measure the old ones and make a set of shorter ones using a new set or there’s adjustable aftermarket ones available, here’s an Amazon link. They have plastic ball sockets on the ends...

Looking to level my Tahoe with Autoride

You should be able to get a 1/2” lift just by shortening the ride height sensor links by about 1/4”. That will trick the computer into thinking the truck has a bunch of weight on the back and it will add air to correct the squat. Be sure to check to be sure you’re still in the center-ish of the...

    OEM parts on Amazon?

It doesn’t matter which online supplier you buy from, theres a chance you might get a knockoff. To be safest, look at who you’re actually buying from. On Amazon, 60% of the stuff sold is through a third party, beyond Amazons control. The same shady companies that sell elsewhere like EBay also...

    Tonyrodz's Tahoe Build Thread

Check all your brake lines front to back, look for any pinhole leaks- if there’s any, there will be evidence of brake fluid. If there’s a pinhole in a rusted line you’ll lose pressure slowly while holding the pedal down. It’s a good safety thing to do in the rust belt. Good to see you back in...

SOLVED: Need to drop the fuel tank but it is currently 80% full

I removed the filler tube and stuck a short length of garden hose in and siphoned all the gas into 5 gallon cans and then into my other vehicles. The tank only weighs about 20 lbs empty so a simple floor jack with a small piece of plywood on it to distribute the weight works great.

Rocket Man's 2008 Bagged CC Silverado Build AKA "THE MACHINE"

I finally got a call from Progressive last week and they determined he was 100% at fault even though he claimed we both backed into each other. My pictures and the damage on my truck combined with no damage to his bumper sealed it. I dropped the truck at my friend Jim’s body shop yesterday. He...

Rocket Man's 2008 Bagged CC Silverado Build AKA "THE MACHINE"

Some pics of my backyard after I finished the paver patio, pergola and pond and then tried my hand at concrete stain. It all came out super nice. It’s really nice to hang out there and chill with my koi and my best buddy. The house has two sliding glass doors that open into the patios that wrap...

Nothings happened with the claim yet, of course the creep is trying to ignore it so they’ll have to go through the process.

Well I guess I’ll have the guy that backed into me pay to repaint the bed and fix the wheel wells where I rolled the fenders and caused done minor damage. I swear I barely drive this thing, grocery shopping is about all. That’s where it happened, but at least I was in the truck AND he has...

Rocket Man's 02 Denali Build Thread AKA "THE BEAST"

The pond is kicking my ass. It’s up and running with the filter in my shed. I just about killed myself digging it. The ground here is rocks and hard pack. I hauled 16 trailer loads, one a day. It’s only 1600 gallons but there was a lot of site work too that contributed. It was real hot during...

I think it has more to do with who needs work more. That was a 2019 price and everything has gone up since then but my point was you need to shop around because the companies that were cheap a couple years ago seems like in a lot of cases are now the most expensive. Another recent case was the...

Tuesday was a bad day for The Beast. I hurt it pretty bad. I was having a rough morning and things were out of kilter in my world, not sure what it was. Everything seemed backwards for some reason. Anyway I ended up at Home Depot buying (6) 10’ PT 4 x 4 posts that must have been stored in a...

The Interstate AGM has been giving up the ghost for the last 2 months and of course it was at 35 months, full warranty ended at 30. Still got the new one for 55% off so eh. The policy is for them to run a battery check which if course showed it was good. My tender is computerized and I trust it...

Thanks guys. @Fless the material is 80% shade cloth pre-made into 16’ x 20’ I got off Amazon. You can get different percentage of shade , I’ve seen them from 50- 90%. At 80 it’s pretty comfy under it, it’s a pretty good degree of shade imo. I don’t know how to share an Amazon item but here’s a...

Rocket Man's 02 Denali Build Thread AKA "THE BEAST"

I’m working on outdoor projects now- paver patio, pergola, pond, etc. So far the pergola is fine mostly except for the lattice panels which I’ll build once I determine how much sun I want to let through into the pond area. The pergola is 16 x 22’ and I built it out of what most would call junk...

Guess I should have said who the fu*k cares what the garbage rate is in Stockton and it could have saved us both the trouble. Instead of saying anything about the work I put in thst morning to move 3 tons by hand you want to compare garbage rates. I see you still have a lot of spare time to be...

Awesome Wes, cool man. You’re talking yard debris, I’m talking fu*king garbage. That’s a completely different rate of course, I mean duh. One is turned into compost and resold, one is hauked to a landfill. Plus mine was construction debris so I should have asked when the last time you hauled...
