    Here we go...

It took me over 10 hours to just do the keys on my Escalade. They were so seized we ended up cutting the bottom of the cross member out to remove the key and bar together. We were hitting it with a 10lb sledge under the truck and it wouldn't budge. Rear end took all of 45 minutes since I had...

    Here we go...

Good luck! If your keys have never been removed, you will be fighting it for hours. I ended up cutting the bottom of the cross member out to drop the bar and key together then separate them on the floor using a 10lb sledge.

    Lifting a 2002 Yukon Denali

If you stay relatively conservative on offset, it would be fine. People are wanting a -76 offset 12" wide wheel to fit but don't take into consideration how far out they stick. I'll be running a custom front bumper and I'm not afraid to use a grinder if need be to make 35s fit when I go to a...

    Upgraded the 2005 Yukon

I'd steer clear of any Flowmaster exhaust based on interior noise. A packed muffler will keep the drone to a minimum as long as you don't dump it under the truck. I have a Magnaflow 22" under my Escalade and it doesn't drone at all but gets pretty noisy at WOT. Mine is combined with an s&b full...

    Lifting a 2002 Yukon Denali

I'm running a 33" tire with just keys up front. There's no way a full 4.5" kit wouldn't allow for a 35" tire.

2004 Yukon XL Denali + American Racing Mojave Teflon Wheels (17x8)

It's a Crown Suspension kit. Keys and spacers. It's awd with authorize but the authorize doesn't work and the previous owner replaced the rear shocks with something generic. The plan is to put some bilstien reservoir shocks on the rear and 5100 series up front. It gets a little rub when the...

    Gibson 5601 Cat-Back Exhaust Review

By "expiration date" I mean that they are guaranteed to wear out due to the packing breaking down.

2004 Yukon XL Denali + American Racing Mojave Teflon Wheels (17x8)

285/70r17 is a 33" tall tire. You'll need 2-3" up front to clear them. The rear will clear just fine but it will look goofy with the front lifted. Here is mine with lift keys set with a whole bunch of room for more lift and a 2" rear spacer. Tires are 265/70r17 which is 31.5 when new. My...

    Gibson 5601 Cat-Back Exhaust Review

The bias against them is that they aren't a big name like Magnaflow. Their products are 100% made in the U.S.A. and they stand behind it. There is no packing in the muffler which means it doesn't have an expiration date. It will not change tone over time like a packed muffler will. Their...

    Gibson 5601 Cat-Back Exhaust Review

I worked for Gibson for 2 years. Their mufflers are chambered (not like flowmaster) and are designed to scavenge the exhaust. Their main goal is to create better usable power and keep sound under control. The 24" muffler in that kit really helps with that and keeps drone to a minimum. Nice...

    "Adventure/Overland" Build Ideas

It's was a stock rebuild. Lost the band and clutches due to a bad TPS not providing proper signal to the ecu for line pressure. I didn't have the space to pull the trans myself at the time so I had to pay for R&R as well. There wasn't room in the budget for the beast shell.

    "Adventure/Overland" Build Ideas

It's an Escalade AWD so it has a 4l65e in it already. Truck has 193k on it and the trans has less than 30k on it. It's fresh but I'd rather protect it best I can than kill a $1600 rebuild.

    "Adventure/Overland" Build Ideas

Trailer would be single axle and would not be very big. I would be going out with a 4 door jk and he has basically no storage space. Even if I'm not towing the trailer, it will be convenient to have it rather than packing the truck or having to climb around to get stuff off the roof. Other...

    "Adventure/Overland" Build Ideas

Yeah I was typing when you posted lol. We will see how it goes. I may end up building a trailer for supplies and recovery gear so we can sleep in the truck. If I'm towing, the 4l60 is going to hate me. Trucool 40k trans cooler will go on this summer for sure.

    "Adventure/Overland" Build Ideas

My bumpers will be custom. They'll be 3/16" plate with 1/4" or 3/8" mounts and bracing. There will be a winch mounted between the frame rails up front. For the rear, same material will be used. However, we are using a pair of off the shelf swing out carriers from jeeps (sitting in the scrap...

    "Adventure/Overland" Build Ideas

I did the nibs brake upgrade and my truck is hydroboost. Next will be braided hoses. I figure with 3/16" steel bumpers and the recovery gear on board, any extra braking power will be good.

    "Adventure/Overland" Build Ideas

I'll be building my Escalade into a mild Overland rig in the next year or so. Plans include custom bumpers and rock sliders as well as full skid plates underneath. Bumpers will be 3/16 plate. Front will house a winch and rear will have a dual swing out setup on it. Suspension has keys and...

    swing out tire carrier...

I'll be building my own possibly this summer. Using on off the shelf Jeep carrier and spindle that we will modify the fit the width of the Escalade. I'll be cutting rear rear quarters to add some departure angle and protection.

07+ Brake upgrade on a 00-06 NBS, is it worth it?

After removing the 26" wheels from my Escalade, the braking is much, much better with the upgraded brakes. For $200 or so, it's really a nice upgrade.

    4.5" BDS Lift - pics

I may have pics of the 4.5" BDS kit and 35s in a few months. Working out some things with them on a few other projects then we will see if they will be on board for my overland Escalade build.

07+ Brake upgrade on a 00-06 NBS, is it worth it?

Plans have changed on my truck and the 26s are coming off. I know that 16s don't fit around the gmt900 brakes but will the gmt800 z71 tahoe 17s fit around them?

Denali and AWD Traction Control. Seems to work more than I would like to..

I had the same issue on my 03 Escalade. After replacing all of the brake calipers and doing a brake fluid flush, the problem is gone. While I was at it, I upgraded to GMT900 brakes up front.

How does your gmt800 truck look right now ?

Just hanging out at the shop.
