Hey guys. I have a 2001 Yukon SLT with dual a/c. Does the a/c compressor ever shut off? Most vehicles I have driven, the compressor cycles on and off as the car reaches temperature. Also.I charged my a/c, but I charged it with only the front a/c on. After reading a few threads on it, I saw...

    outside rear mirror cracked

Is it just the glass or the housing? If it's just the glass, it can be replaced cheaply and easily. It pops right off and you can buy a replacement and pop it back on.

    Opinion on road trip mileage

That might be a bit optimistic. I drove my 2001 4x4 from Texas to Florida and averaged around 16.5mpg. But I put it on cruise at 70mph and was not carrying any cargo or anybody but myself in the vehicle. Oh yeah. Since it was winter time, I did not have to run the A/C the entire way.

    Water Pump

There is a small hole on the pump where the shaft runs through the housing. If the water is coming out of the hole then the bearings are shot and you need a new pump. That is usually where pumps fail.

    rear wiper not working

Check the washer fluid level. Both the front and rear wipers use the same tank, but have two seperate pumps. When the fluid gets below a certain level it disables the rear wiper to save the remaining fluid for the front wiper.

    Ipod Connection

Hey guys. I have the non-Bose 9-speaker system with the CD player in the head unit and the cassette in the console. I was wondering if I can remove the cassette and use its connection for an ipod, or what is my best option to connect my ipod.

    Where's the bass?

Thanks guys. The sound when the CD is playing is the same. Any recommendations on speakers. I don't want to spend a lot of money. I think 6 1/2's fit in both the front and rear doors. I was thinking possibly going component in the front door since they already have the holes for the tweeters.
