03 Tahoe vs 05 Tahoe Gauge Cluster Interchangeability

Thanks for the replies. Having checked out the thread suggested and several vids and other inquiries it looks to be the simplest fix will be to re-solder the broken connections on the PCB. That way I avoid the reprogramming. The solder bit is no problemo. Whether that is really the issue remains...

03 Tahoe vs 05 Tahoe Gauge Cluster Interchangeability

The question regarding any reprogramming though. Thinking about it, if the gauge/odometer is a display only, then the ECU will output the appropriate mileage. But if the gauge cluster has a memory chip of some sort, then it's a different story.

03 Tahoe vs 05 Tahoe Gauge Cluster Interchangeability

Thanks for that. My quick search for similar part numbers across different vendors didn't yield that kind of duplicate. Looks like I might just have that donor sitting in my driveway. Thanks again.

03 Tahoe vs 05 Tahoe Gauge Cluster Interchangeability

Alright, I've done the requisite searches and as is often the case, the results are inconclusive and sometimes conflicting. So, if I ask again and there's a definitive answer somewhere, direct me to it. The storyline: I now own three Tahoe's of this generation. An 03, an 06 and now a new to me...

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

Did you ask that question for a specific reason? As in there's some kind of relationship between the headlight on alarm and the amp?

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

I switched the headlights on manually. No chime. This truck has its share of electrical gremlins. I'm guessing the amp is toast.

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

Interestingly, I do NOT get a headlights on chime. Actually, I just tested this yesterday as I saw that when I returned to my truck after a quick dash into the store, the headlights were on. Seems to me there used to be an alarm and it struck me as odd as it didn't work.

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

I haven't done any further investigating but that one is certainly worth a try. Thanks. It's dropped to 20 below here and with no longer having a shop to work in, maintenance gets a back seat until a break in the weather.

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

Under the console? Perhaps not coincidentally, the sunroof had been leaking for a while. As a result, the centre console/ glovebox ended up full of water. Wouldn't surprise me if some of that made its way to the amp. More work... Thanks.

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

Well, the fuses were quick and easy to find however they both appear in good shape. I'll have to get out the multimeter and start troubleshooting.

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

Awesome. Thanks. I haven't had the opportunity to investigate but now this gives me a short track to listening to the news. Thanks again.

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

Thanks for that. Without being at the truck at the moment to investigate, would you say that fuse is for the radio and amp, or just the amp? If the latter, then that's probably the culprit. As mentioned, the head unit still lights up.

Factory Bose Entertainment System: Radio Lights Up. No Sound

I see this has been been discussed more or less but not in the specific way I'm looking for so I'' ask another question. Factory radio lights up as it should and has full functionality other than sound. So I know the fuse is good as it has power. My question: Is there another fuse for an...

Pretty much my approach but I used green tape. ;)

    Headlight Aiming

We live in similar countrysides. We have moose to steer around as well though. And the occasional stray bovine. My 06 has reasonable headlight aiming so with that I found an appropriate level lot with a wall 25' away and transferred those headlight focal points onto that wall. Then I parked the...

Headlight Adjusting Screws and Related Parts

His lack of measurements seems a little slack. I've copied and pasted the instructions from my Tahoe factory manual in the link below. https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/headlight-aiming.137454/ It's quite detailed and should give a better insight on what needs to be done. Now I just...

    Headlight Aiming

Those methods are not unlike what we used to do back when. I like the idea of the "measuring board" although I've also tried the level ground against the side of a building for the same sort of result. I'll to look to see if the 25' measurement is applicable to an 03 Tahoe without the Denali...

    Headlight Aiming

I did a search and haven't found what I'm looking for and that's a DIY method for aiming the new headlight assemblies on an 03 Tahoe. Back in the day, with sealed beams, I had what I needed to get this done. Now, with these new one piece units and two adjustment screws, it's quite the same. Can...

Headlight Adjusting Screws and Related Parts

After a little back and forth with the supplier due to inventory shortages, I ended up with Dorman 1590119 and 1590118. These are complete assemblies with adjusters and bulbs for $75 CDN each. That's from a Canadian online retailer. The Wrench Monkey. https://www.thewrenchmonkey.ca/ They fit as...

Headlight Adjusting Screws and Related Parts

This is true. That said, for $90, and Canadian funds keep in mind and that's about double for anything internet based this days when converted to USD, then if it's a bargain comparatively speaking. New housing and adjusters. The risk, as you know, when buying a ratty housing from Ebay, might...

Headlight Adjusting Screws and Related Parts

The pick-a-parts here are few and far between (like one within 40 miles). And the pickings are slim at best as trucks are very much the dominate vehicles on the road. Try buying a used Tahoe up here lately! The value of my two beaters (03 and 06) have doubled in the last two years!

Headlight Adjusting Screws and Related Parts

That very well could be. And interestingly, the places that sell the assemblies don't appear to sell the adjusters. The part in the picture is 90 bucks CAD. Can't tell if it's complete with adjusters though. But I suspect it is.
