    About 6 months ago I burned up the tranny in my 04 Tahoe z71 while towing a small trailer on a road trip. It went to downshift to go up a hill, and there was nothing. Tach pegged out. Replaced transmission, new torque converter as well. Within 100 miles the problem was back. Now at normal...

    I realize this is an old thread but am hoping to catch a break... Ive had a 2004 Tahoe Z71 for about a year now, and had the same situation as stated in first post. I followed exact same steps you did, costing me about $4K in a rebuilt warrantied transmission. I still have the same slippage...
