    I know, they are fun to drive - but expensive to repair. Then again, nothing is cheap, right. So far, I've done a tune up, $450 with a bunch of diagnosis included and the fuel pump in July, that was $850 and that would have been more but I saved a couple hundred but buying the fuel pump first...

    Well, only if that is the problem, IMHO. If it ain't broke... then no. There are a few things I fix on the "recommend" schedule(the timing belt), but no, most of them I repair when I have to. I still wonder if you should go buy a new gas cap? Sure it is a long shot, but there is no down...

    ...have you already replaced the fuel pump? What part or parts, are you going /trying to get covered by the warranty? And yes, I used a local guy to...who's wife owned a Tahoe - he says most of them work up until you fill up the tank and then bam, the pump dies. Good luck!

    Oops! Sorry http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/conversations/gas-leak-above-tank.71386/ anyway. I'm not a mechanic, but learning about the truck. If you haven't replaced a pump yet, that might be the trouble. BUT I WOULD BUY A GAS CAP And put it on the truck and see if it starts and then drive it...

    Here is the animal from autozone-I called the chevy partsman and got a GM OE #19168418...then autozone said that it was the exact fuel pump with the sender. Ordered tonight-suppose to be in tomorrow. Buying a lockring too. I think the only thing I need to find is one of those gas line splicer...

    Hi. the leak is not bad yet...Haven't pulled the tank yet, but it is definitely coming from above the tank...wanted to know how long it takes to drop the tank and if it is pretty easy or hard to do. I realize that is relative to your time, tools and mechanical aptitude. I have a good friend...
