Thats good to know. Thanks for the update on the honeycombs. I have an 05 Tahoe with those wheels. Looking at the 16" rotors and 6 piston calipers for it in the future. I already upgraded to the 13" rotors for the front. My rears are already 13" with dual piston calipers factory. I felt my...
I converted my 04 2500 sub to e-fans. I sourced the fans from junkyard. Pulled the fans and harness from same vehicle. Split the forward lighting harness apart and grabbed the OE complete fan harness with factory fuse/ relay blocks. If the fan motors later go bad, you can source just the motors...
Agreed. We have noticed over the years on the steel push bumpers is that the paint or coatings dont last, didn't have the correct prep on them to stick. They rust underneath the coatings then bubble and peel. More apparent when a section of the bumber has been drilled to install lighting or...
You're are correct, the Setina does have four points. Two in the frame ends/ tow hooks and two that go around the vehicle bumper and through the bottom of the grille. It is sturdy. They are also made to push, not crash. You can get them in steel and aluminum. I have already had to replace one...
I can not recall any that have two points. Most have four. It is just how all four points attach. The Setina has two in the tow hook frame ends an two that go around the vehicle bumper. Some others tie in high to the core support or high off the bumper but take a lot of grille modifications. So...
If you want the ppv tire, I would look at the Goodyear not the Firestone anyway. We haven't gotten any good wear life out of the Firestones. 18k to 24k is about all we get out of them. We dont have any data on goodyear life yet. So far, prety good.
Thanks for the heads up! I will keep that in mind for our fleet.
Now, on my 04 2500 sub installed Wagner OEX pads all 4 corners. Stock rotors. They stop good with and without a trailer, low to no dust and quiet. They were advertised to knock off additional 50' stopping distance. These have...
Ok the part number for the 21+ tahoe ppv steel wheel is 84947815 list price is $426.02.
The ppv tire that came on our tahoes is a 275/55r20 Firestone Firehawk Pursuit. As they wear out we replace with a Goodyear Eagle Sport. This is the tire my goodyear rep sells all of the local pd agencies...
Your last reply said constant hot where the console used to be. I assume you purchased the vehicle and all the equipment was removed and wires are just blunt cut all over. It could be a factory wire from one of the bundles or an add on harness from the upfitter. Personally I am leaning on added...
The stock tire on the 21 and PPV Tahoe is a 275/55r20 Firestone Firehawk police. We have already wore those out on our 21's and replaced them with a Goodyear. I can not recall the model but I will try and write it down when I go back to work on Monday. I can take a ciuple of pics then also.
Hey everyone, just giving you all another option in replacement pads and rotors. The Power Stop brake rep came by the shop the other day. Set us up with a complete set of front and rear pads and rotors for 21 and up PPV Tahoes. These are supposed to address the brake squeal and increase the...
Hey everyone, just some more info for everyone. A Power Stop brake rep stopped by the shop the other day. Gaves us some info on their product to help combat the break squeal issue on 21 and up PPV Tahoes and maybe some more miles over the factory pads. They shipped us a set of front and rear...
Good write up. Thanks for sharing. I was referencing your stock components for brake upgade on my 05 tahoe. The 13" rotors and a 4 piston calipers would stop better than my current 12" with 2 piston. But been researching the 16" 6 piston as well.
As far as your sensor and hose bracket issues...
Thats awesome! If you dont mind, where did you source the calipers and cost?
As far as your 21 Denali, what was the the caliper on it? 2 piston, 4 piston, and did it use a caliper mounting bracket like previous generations or is the bracket deleted like the ppv caliper? Thanks!
The coating on the rotor will wear off. Do a good burn-in/seat the pads, let them cool, then do it again couple hours later. The 1st time you do it, you will still see the coating, and it will start to wear off. The 2nd time should be good. The police pads put off some dust, so just stay on top...
I researched the Ranchhand site and found the brackets they use. They also had wiring extensions to help relocate the sensors from the bumber to the pushbumper. I have not purchased any. Price seem to be reasonable if I recall. I am not sure if they will be a bolt on to any other manufacturers...
