Lowered 21+ T1xx: Post Em Up

Yes but again, I may have experienced a harsher ride because of the combination of having rear drop struts. I think with rear lowering arms, it would've been better. Streets play a big role as well. I live on Long Island and it's awful by me, just terrible. If I lived in Florida I probably...

That's the thing, in theory, drop spindles "shouldn't" hurt the ride, as the geometry of the strut compression, spring rate etc doesn't change. But I absolutely felt a difference in the ride. That being said it was kind of hard to tell how much of what I was feeling was from the rear, where I...

I was not crazy about my maxtrac spindle/rear lowering strut kit. Might've been bc of the rear struts that gave it a bit of a jarring ride. I can imagine drop struts in the front would've been even worse. I would lean towards the spindle and lower control arm kit. I may go that route next for my...

There are tools for measuring how large of a spacer you'd need to create flush fitment with your fender lines. I'd call around to local alignment or performance shops in seeing if they have this and can help figure out what you need. Keep in mind however, if you go with a 1" hub centric spacer...

Appreciate that! I have LT with the 5.3 and the exhaust dumps downward beneath the car. If I keep it, I definitely plan on going with the dual exhaust swap.

03 Tahoe tires are about 30.5 inches tall. 245/50r16 is 5” smaller +27 are the offset of the wheels without the spacer. +28 offset on a 10” wide wheel will sit almost perfectly flush on a 21’+ GM SUV. Keep in mind of the style of the wheels you have and the curvature of the spokes. Mine are a...

Very interesting look, I respect it, but you should show it off in a different gen thread. Side note; That thing must show double the speed on your speedometer with those wheels lol

Thanks man! Still have it but replaced the blue x5 with a GWagon. Been over 2 years now with since lowering it and it’s time to go back to stock. My wife will be using it for work and she hates the ride and rubbing. Been fun though! Here’s photos of it as it sits now below. The only things that...

Yes, turning radius decreased, as well as rubbing but I’m not completely sure where the rubbing was happening be honest with you. Shortly after these photos were taken I put on a set of OEM 22’s and the turning radius improved a lot and I only have rubbing on the passenger side. However the...

I was using lugs with a sleeve that screwed past the conical seat about .3”. That made up for most of the spacer taking up thread room. I got a lot more turns when tightening and felt very safe and no issues for about 5k miles until I removed them. I’ve been on OEM RST wheels with my standard...

I LOVE that idea. I can’t wait for fall to come so I can throw some beefy AT’s on my lowered Tahoe. Such a cool look imo

What’s the latest on this? Only spacers that come with this kit are the adjustment blocks that sit on the strut base. The more you add, the less it will lower. Typically everyone just puts them to the side and lowers it to the max. (2”front/3”rear approx)

Great cars you had, oof e91 6spd that’s not common I wish I had one of those. E36/E46 tough choice between the two! I wanted an e36 or e46 to accompany the e39 for the longest time but I’m leaning towards an early 00’s 911 now, switch it up a bit. Prices are going up get your hands on whatever...

Sorry didn’t take too many pics. Truck is FAR from done but I figured I’d hop on the thread and kickstart. In the meantime here’s a couple I just took of it while it’s filthy . I’ll be reporting back when the chrome delete is done, as well as tints. I’m actually considering lowering it some more

    Horrible noises and ride, HELP!

Thanks for the reply! I’ve been waiting for a resolution before updating but I’m still at a loss. I went ahead and replaced the belltech drop shocks for Bilstein 4600s since a couple people suggested it, and maybe the belltechs I had were defective, but it honestly didn’t do much if anything at...

    Horrible noises and ride, HELP!

On the torsion key end it was like that and had to get heated up and beat out. I just can’t remember how snug/loose it was in the OEM control arms when I removed them
