3rd times a charm! Its fixed.
This time I opted for the SMP CSP313.
I now have the GOAT dashbaord back :) No airbag light and working steering wheel controls. This being the 4th time ive done the clockspring, it took me only 20mins from start to finish :)
Rockauto agreed to take the first 2...
This gets stupider and stupider.
Opened the box for the GM part and the orange retaining clip was broken off. Meaning the clockspring had been free to rotate.
I fitted it anyway hoping that the part would be OK..... it isnt.
Immediate airbag light.
However the steering wheel controls work...
Same here and asked the professional installer at the time. The OEM radio was responsible for the chimes, so the replacement harness includes a chime module.
Mine sounds slightly different (fine) but is much louder (annoying). But I was told theres very little choice.
I have to say after...
Have been back through the install today, took everyting to pieces and re-assembled. Good new is I am a clockspring remover Pro now :)
Still no dice with the steering controls though :( No breaks in the wiring found, plus no in-line fuses as far as I can see.
So ive bitten the bullet and...
I didn't have time to take the wheel off again and open the dash yet.....
I did discover one fuse in the drivers side panel for the steering controls backlights.... This fuse was OK.
Will report back when I find the time to delve deeper again :)
No, that's not possible. The plugs in the photo are for the airbag.
The steering wheel control plugs are attached to the wheel and plug into the female connector on the clock spring.
I ordered the one pictured above. It said for models with cruise control... There were no further distinctions on RockAuto...
All the cables plugged in and it looked the same as the old part.
Thanks
G'day all.
Today I replaced the clockspring on my 07 LTZ (with steering wheel controls & cruise control).
Replacing the clockspring went perfectly, and I now no longer have an airbag light - fantastic!
What is less fantastic is that I now have non-functioning steering wheel controls. Both...
Hi forum,
Yesterday, randomly, the airbag light illuminated itself.
Originally when I scanned I got a B0012-OD code.
And the 2nd time I got a B0012-04 code.
The scanner says the codes relate to the passenger side airbag, but the internet suggests it's drivers side....
Has anyone got...
A big day for my 07.
Was in the shop for new transmission lines, aircon compressor, rear trailing arms, new exhaust bolts and a few other things.
Last but not least, a set of 22" RST wheels, which I think look awesome. :)
Hi.
I've had a trucool transmission cooler on my 07 5.3 for a months.
One fitting just keeps on leaking, we've tried a few different clamps, but no joy.
Does anybody know of a decent fitting kit / connector set I could order up?
Tips appreciated.
Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any help you are able to offer on this.
After a year it's time to refresh and modify the suspension on my 07 Suburban LTZ 4WD.
It has the adaptive shocks and air ride from the factory, but I'm looking to delete this as it has been non functional for a while.
I...
Thanks for all the insights. Sounds like it should be a straightforward job....
I just need the darn thing to arrive. As of right now it's still in Santa Ana California and I'm a continent away :(
Hi folks
In 4 days time I'm due to leave on a 3000mile roadtrip towing a 5000lb camper.... Of course the radiator has chosen this moment to retire itself from active service.
It's an 07 Burb 4WD with the 4L60 and the GT4 RPO code.
I've immediately ordered this from Rockauto:
GM 21726...
Thanks a lot.
Programming will be difficult as I am in Europe and there is no official Chevy support here.
The diesel works product looks good, but perhaps expensive just to have working DRLs
Hi all,
Looking for some advice.
My export market 07 Burb LTZ has the T62 RPO. DRL Delete.
I would like to re-enable the DRLs.
Does anyone know with certainty if this is purely a BCM programming thing, or are the headlights wired/made differently?
Ive checked the DRL bulbs, and they are...
Reviving a necro-thread, but could anyone advise what I should purchase for one heat-range cooler than OEM?
My truck runs on Propane and a grade cooler is recommended, but im having a hard time finding out the OEM heat range.
Thanks!
Hi all,
On my recently acquired 07 LTZ the drivers side assist step has stopped working. For a short period it refused to raise fully when closing the door (it would travel about 1/3 before stopping) and now its quit completely (in the down position).
There was one active and one stored code...
After 4 months I finally got the Suburban back 2 days ago!! It's been sitting at the importer all this time waiting for it's Dutch licence plates.
There was quite a hold up with getting the LPG system certified, but it all worked out in the end.
So now the car is back, I can get on with...
Thanks for that answer, super detailed :)
I had contact with BellTech, and they have recommended the 753SP kit, which looks to be a complete kit on spindles...
Because my front struts also need replacing, I guess the correct thing to do at this point is also purchase some 'regular' new struts...
