    Trans cooler addition 6l80

I agree with the other comments. Those temperatures are nothing to be concerned about and I wouldn't really do anything at all, but if you want to do something, just install the factory trans cooler option. I see trans and engine temps of ~220-230 degrees with my 6.2 for nearly an hour at a time...

    2008 Escalade P0455, P0172 & P0175, pulling my hair out.

Kinda sounds like the fuel pump might be on its way out? Or maybe a sticking injector that's causing the rich fuel mixture codes? You've already tried the other things I'd suggest.

Really Stupid Question: Where to measure for level on a 2013 Escalade ESV...?

Putting a bubble level just on the bottom of the frame rail should be good enough, I'd think.

Greetings and another oil leak post

I called a few transmission shops in my area and asked what they recommended in the way of upgrading my 6L80 for towing and not a single one of them had any suggestions other than just a standard rebuild. I guess I need to find a better transmission shop...

New Member from Illinois 2011 Yukon Denali, love it but where is the power?

What altitude do you live at? If you're anywhere close to sea level, 87 octane is almost certainly your issue. Engine is probably pulling a lot of timing to counter knock. I live at ~5k feet so I can get away with 89 which is mid-range where I live.

New Member from Illinois 2011 Yukon Denali, love it but where is the power?

Just another subjective data point but my 2007 Denali with 220k miles honestly surprised me the first time I floored it. It's not a drag car by any means but it should get up and go if you gun it. My other car is a Tesla Model 3 Performance so it's not like I'm used to only slow cars. I will...

    2008 Suburban Engine Swap - 6.0 to 6.2

Gonna agree with Geotrash on the suggestion to change most of the gaskets/seals while the engine is out and it is way easier to do. It will be the best couple hundred dollars you can spend as the ones that the engine has on it now are definitely getting close to the end of their useful...

What are your must-do things on new-to-you gmt900?

Yep this! My cruise also didn't work when I bought the truck. I was at a loss and saw that the brake switch might be the issue so I took the original one apart to see what was broken. It all looked completely fine so I cleaned it and put it back in. Still broken. Bought a new one on Amazon for...

What are your must-do things on new-to-you gmt900?

Definitely check your brake fluid. Every other fluid in my 2007 looked brand new but the brake fluid looked like it was the same stuff the factory put in it way back in 2007. Brake fluid should not be dark green. The pedal feel improved substantially after flushing a few bottles of DOT 3 through.

About to try and tackle some fender rust repair. Where do you guys get paint?

Excellent! Several other people have mentioned the same company so I'm leaning that way given all the positive experiences with their products. Thanks

About to try and tackle some fender rust repair. Where do you guys get paint?

Now that I have changed all the fluids, plugs, engine seals, motor mounts, etc. to sort of stabilize the mechanical condition of my newly acquired truck, I am ready to start working on some of the fender rust damage. Most of it is rock chip sized that is starting to rust, but there is one half...

    AC comp locked up.

If you are the DIY type and want to save some $$$, you can buy all the stuff to flush, evacuate and charge your own AC system for a few hundred bucks which is probably way cheaper than any AC shop and you get to keep the tools at the end. I was a little intimidated to do it but I did on my HMMWV...

Greetings and another oil leak post

I think we are both on the exact same page because I don't really see oil wetting around the rear main seal itself. Just general oiliness around the periphery of the rear cover but its pretty hard to see through the transmission inspection hole. All of the shops I called said they replace the...

    Intermittent power driver’s seat

To add on to the other good suggestions, does the memory function cause the seat to move when the normal adjustment switch does not? That should more or less rule out an issue with the control box. If niether switch causes the relays to click then it sounds more like a bad control box to me as...

    2007 Yukon Denali (155k/8600$ ) vs Tahoe LTZ (174k/7000$)

I just recently bought a 2007 Yukon Denali XL with 224k miles for $5,900. It has about 10% of the rust that the black one up above has and it's only in the rear. Just as a data point for you. I've never driven a 5.3, but I have got to say the 6.2 in my Yukon has really surprised me. For almost...

    Intermittent power driver’s seat

For my particular issue, it was the recline motor that was having issues. In that case, it was a few inches from the motor where the harness had rubbed through and was shorting on the metal frame which is... not good. Got it fixed up and it's been working great ever since. Yours sounds a little...

    Intermittent power driver’s seat

My wiring harness was chewed up and causing intermittent issues like that. I had to take the seat apart and fix the damaged wires. Took a few hours and wasn't too hard.

Greetings and another oil leak post

I don't blame you if you don't want to read this massive wall of text so here is the short version: Crank and knock sensors are not leaking at all. Oil cooler blockoff cover is not leaking. Like 99% sure now that it is a leaking rear cover/rear main seal. Several local quotes to replace the rear...

Greetings and another oil leak post

It was a fel-pro metal seal which is exactly what came off of there so it must have been changed previously. That being said, that area is actually bone dry so I'm somewhat sure that's not where it's leaking from. At the moment 90% of the oil leak is over by the starter. Just got my first...

Greetings and another oil leak post

The very first thing I tried was fluorescent dye in the oil. Let it run a few minutes while I watched with a UV light anddd nothing. Check it again the next morning and the entire rear of the engine was glowing like a rave club. So, that was less helpful than desired. I think you have a good...

    HELP! Buying a 07 Yukon Denali ??

I just bought a 2007 Denali XL with 224k miles on it two weeks ago for $5,900. I think $4k is a fair price and if the truck is in decent shape, I'd buy it with the issues you mentioned. Stabilitrak thing could be as simple as a loose connection (mine had a loose connector at the left rear wheel)...

Greetings and another oil leak post

Shoot, yes I forgot to add that I did replace that oil cooler block off seal when I did the oil pan gasket yesterday since it was one of the things I read can cause leaks. It didn't look like it was leaking but replaced it anyways. The screw with the o-ring is new to me though. Any more details...

Greetings and another oil leak post

Hello everyone, hate to have my introduction be another boring post about a rear engine oil leak, but I'm about at my wits end trying to figure this one out and was hoping someone might have a last ditch piece of advice to save my driveway from getting soaked in oil. I have probably read every...
