@Fless This truck suffers from the intermediate steering shaft rattle, not so much when turning but terrible when going over bumps.
Is there a thread here on this?
Ive tried the gear clamp but no difference thanks.
Took it for a 2000 km trip 1200mile. Was awesome. Put the truck up for sale while I was gone. Sold as soon as I came back. Truck had alignment issues with doors fenders etc. I think it may have bounced of a deer or two. Any who found another LBZ ext cab this time with next to no rust. Yay. No...
Looking for rattle noises under my dash of 06 duramax 2500. This clip Or staple looking thing is laying on my auto shift linkage area under dash. See pic. Any idea or help where it’s from? Thanks.
Sanded and buffed. Picked up a rotary polisher with a wool pad as my DA one with foam wasn’t cutting it. lol. The rotary does a much better job.
A lot of work sanding 1000,1200,1500 and 2000. I removed about 75% of the orange peel with 1000. 1200 got almost all of the rest. 1500 and 2000 goes...
This wore me out, started Feb 1 i think. Some days you walk buy it and nope, dont want to do anything.Learned a lot.Ill probably sell this truck.Diesel is cool but for a daily its a bit much.
Took down the booth removed about 4 rolls of tape lol. And took it for a rip. Haven’t drivin it since February. Was hell fun. You can smoke the tires easy with this duramax. Acceleration from 40-90 is awesome. Any who. So glad this is almost done.
3 coats base and waiting for the second coat of clear to flash. One run so far in second coat of clear. Definitely looks better spraying a little more wet this time.
Working this am on wet sanding with 600. Spent a bunch of time blocking with 400 so this step is going much easier. I dust some black primer on and it’s easy to see where you’ve sanded and areas that need more.
Getting excited. Mostly all masked off. Booth is pretty much done.
All turned out ok. Had some orange peel so will have to sand and buff. On this next side I’m gonna try to lay the clear much wetter and see how that goes.
Geez been a while. Life gets in the way. Have one side complete. Rockers cab corner and wheel arch. Have the other side all sanded and ready for paint. Hopefully this weekend.
On my first attempt to spray base coat I had everything ready. Laid down on my back to spray the rocker and bam Huge...
Looking at a 2007.5 Yukon. Owner says stalls sometimes on cold start. Start again and all is good. Any help with theses codes? Not sure what reader it is.
Another thing I’ll add is silver with any metallic in it needs to be sanded to 6-800 grit before base. And sanded well. Metallic will fall into any sanding scratches left over leaving a mottled look. It happened to me on my first try with silver. Thought 400 grit was good enough nope.
Ive seen the blender sitting on shelves, never tried it.Supposed to soften the clear so new clear can burn in? Have you used it before?
Silver is one of the hardest colours to match/blend.
Hey how goes?
Nice job on the repair.
One thing I found was never tape a line for primer, youll see it when you paint it no matter how much you sand it.
What you can do is fold tape, google soft edge masking, its a little better than straight tape.
Whats the plan for base and clear?
Thanks, truck already has a nice thick set.Have to make sure I dont weld over the screw holes.
Hopefully get the new panel tacked in today, gotta check it a few times to make sure its in the right spot.
