The front door speakers in my 17 Tahoe LS just stopped working. (OEM speakers previously replaced w Pioneers) My truck does not have a factory amp behind the jack. Replaced both radio and amp fuses. Not sure where to go next. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Pics of the truck, please.

Does the head unit function completely normally, except for no front speaker sound?

HU works as normal other than the dead front door speakers. Where does speaker power come from on the in-amplified system?

If you have no external amp in the system, then the speaker wires from all speakers should be directly connected to the head unit, most likely through a GM pigtail and connector.

One question that I did not ask is if you have the Bose system or a non-Bose system.

No Bose. So does no external amp mean if I add an aftermarket HU I can get power direct from aftermarket HU without having to rewire truck?

Yes, absolutely. The easiest way to do that is to purchase the correct connection pigtail, so you don't have to cut and solder wires. If you have steering wheel controls for the HU, then you need to purchase an interface module, as well, in order to keep the steering wheel functionality.

I recommend that you call Crutchfield and discuss what you need for an interface module and connection pigtail, and they will give you the information for the correct parts. They are also very competitive on price.
