2000 XL-

Just ordered a dual XP 270 amp alternator setup from DC!

Now I need some advice on dual batteries.

What would be the best out there? I don't mind replacing my existing. I may use it in a TRI battery setup in the spare tire location.

Any thoughts?? Should I go deep cell on one? Wiring?

My setup-

1600 total watt amps
Upgrade Kenwood Stereo
17" tv
DVD Player
Hi Def TV antenna and receiver
3500 Watt inverter
200 Watt bright front lights
6 total 55w "other lights" up front and up top
Rear back up camera

Any thoughts on a "dream" setup?

I want to never have to worry about upgrading or stressing anything...

Dont expect it to get to you within a week. I think I waited close to a month for mine but, it is a super easy install and it is a much needed improvement. The lights no longer dim at all.

If you are running a dual or tri battery set up then you can actually have them all fit up front in the engine bay. Get some deep cell batteries and wire up the dual batt set up as mentioned above. What I did was I added a second (in your case a third) battery to where the stock air box sits. I bought an aftermarket intake and cut the aluminum a bit so that the battery can sit in the location where the cone normally would be. Just wire them all up and you should be good to go. I would maybe dedicate one battery for accessories like your tv screens, navigation unit, head unit, etc and the others for your audio equipment. Make sure you do the big 3. Im thinking about buying myself an early birthday present from DC for the stock alt.

As far as wire goes some people are diehard audio fanatics and will boast only use audio grade wire. Others will tell you that welding cable is sufficient. Honestly, it is whatever fits your budget. Truth be told you generally get a better deal on performance and reliability if you shell out a few more clams for quality. Batteries are the same thing. Get deep cell sealed batteries. Whichever fits your budget.

One thing that I was surprised at was how the truck idles. Its like a Pruis now. You know that it is running but, I dont feel the truck vibrate at all anymore. I was impressed by that and it seems to have more throttle response. Maybe I am dreaming it. Also, my tensioner is MAXED out. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the link to the dual battery setup. This will probably be the way I will go, and do the other batteries in the future in the empty spare tire location.

And thanks for the tips on wiring. I'm planning on doing the big 3 when I install the alternators.

I ordered it On Wednesday night around midnight and according to the fedex tracker it should be here any second today (Saturday). I did call earlier in the day on Wednesday to check stock and he said they have a bunch in stock due to the popularity of our trucks. He said if I had a Kia it would be a different story.

I'm hoping to get it in today so I can start the power steering pump/water pump/dual alternator install. Figured I'd kill three birds...

I ordered it on a Thursday morning, and it was delivered Sat. late afternoon. (A week ago) took 3 days from click to doorstep.

I did call before though to check stock. I would recommend calling them first to make sure it's in stock and ask them when it will be shipped. Tell them you've heard the horror stories of others ordering theirs and not getting the for a month+. I told them that and he guaranteed it'd be on it's way.

After talking to them, make sure you order online from the website. I saved a couple $ doing it that way.

That's a lot better than ive heard, but guys were trying to have custom alts for kia's and other off the wall cars. I've actually gotten a response today from them thru their Facebook page. Said they have plenty in stock. I'll go online and see what happens.
