01 Denali motor oil ?

ive been using the motor oil that the owners manual states to use

I've been told I should go with 10w-30 instead of 5w-30

I would like to know the best oil and filter to get

Best? Amsoil but at $14/qt and $20 filter thats your choice. I just use Walmart Supertech and filter which is in fact a Wix made filter.

I run 5-30 in mine with 150k and it does just fine.
I think any oil does fine as long as its the right weight...except Pennzoil lol i won't use that stuff.
Any quality filter will work fine, I prefer ac delco or wix.
I usually run whatever I can find on sale, I bought about 50 quarts of mobil 0-30 when autozone put it on closeout for $2/quart and i usually hit up walmart for filters, they seem to change brands every 6 months and put the old stock on clearance. Most recently I bought about 6 bosch distanceplus D3423 for about $3 each. There are deals out there!

I run 5w30, which is the factory recommend weight in my 04 Escalade 6.0 with a Wix filter runs great at 160k.

I also run 5w30 in my 01 Hoe with close to 150k. I went with Pennz Ultra Platinum fully synthetic because of the tests I saw showing that it performed close to Amsoil at a little better price. I usually use the discounts/speedperks from Advance Auto to stock up on filters. K&N, Purolator, and Wix are all good choices.
