Hello everyone...

I have an 01 Tahoe 3.5. I have a fairly new Optima red top. And yesterday it wouldn't start no clicking nothing.. It was pretty cold the other night. I did notice this morning when I went to clean the snow off that when I opened the door the break petal was making a vibration noise and middle dome light was Flickering and stopped when I pressed on it and there is a dinging like when the key is in the ignition but not started and is still dinging with the door closed. I can also shift in shifter without depressing the petal. I haven't been able to try to jump it because I have cars all around that I don't know whos they are. Thanks for your time Steven.

I would start with checking the brake light switch up above the brake pedal. SOunds like there may have been a short across that switch maybe due to moisture/ice and causing a key off draw/the shifting issue.

Thanks for the quick response I'll check that out.

No problem, Maybe see if they noise and what not change just by unplugging it. Or jumo the truck and see if the brake lights stay on would be another quick test.

or you could have a draw. Please dont replace the starter based on a guess. Need to charge the battery fully and have it tested. Start here

Well tapping on the starter didn't do anything so I was finally able to try to jump it and Nothing... Wasn't able to be jumped. Going to take the battery out and get it tested.

Maybe pull the battery and hitch a ride to a store that can test the battery
