Hi guys/gals, so as the title shows.

I have an '02 burb with factory amp, sub and on star. Non-Bose.

I am trying to install aftermarket Head Unit.

I have the 2 connectors coming out of my stock HU.

The 21 point double row connector and the 9 point single row connector (9point has the pink wire and the bare, drain wire)

Initially I am planning to put the Alpine iDA-X100 in with XM tuner and XM/Alpine interface. Get that going and see how it works.

Then I will be adding 6.5" Type-R components in front doors and then 6x9s in the rear doors. Powered by 4.X100W alpine digi amp. No sub plans yet. I would like to keep the factory sub running with all this.

Do I need a gmos/peripheral unit to make this work?

Okay Commence ideas!!!!

i'm not 100% on this, but dont you only really "need" the harness for bose units?

ik in my bro's colorado we hard wired everything, all you have to do is create your own remote turn on wire and splice it into a switched 12v wire

but why, may i ask, are you putting 6x9s in the rear door?

For 12v remote turn on for factory amp, from head unit, tap the pink wire on the harness and do not disconnect rear audio controls if u have them. When you add a new sub and amp, just disconnect that jumper wire.

all you need is a metra 70-1858 harness and a 40-gm10 ant adp and a 99-3002 kit. the take the blue/white remote wire off the deck and power the pink wire in secondary harness.

i guess to each his own, but in any experience i've had with car audio, round speakers are clearer and more accurate, and just all around better imo than oval (6x9) but i was just curious
