Even if you have regular green antifreeze you should still dilute with water. I usually do a 60-40 mix with green but i`ve seen people go 70-30.

Mixing with water actually lowers the freezing point and thins the coolant. If i remember correctly straight antifreeze will freeze at +8-10 degrees.

Do you have electric fans? I had this issue when my electric fan didn't come on with the AC. If your AC is on one fan will be on.

This. My wife's Jeep GC just had the exact same issues as the OP is describing. It turns out her two-speed fan lost one of the two speeds. The fan wouldn't spin at all, and it would overheat only when stopped or in slow traffic.

Turned out the electric fan motor crapped out. A quick trip to NAPA and $111 later for a new electric fan assembly, and I was back in business.

OP, check to see if your fan is spinning when the car is at idle with the A/C on. If not, unplug the connector to the fan, and test to see if you're getting voltage (car running, A/C on). If you're getting voltage, it is the fan motor. If you aren't getting voltage, it could be a fuse, relay, or some other issue.
