03 hoe stays blowin

Wife's 03 Tahoe even with key out of ignition still has fan noise coming from blower area around glove box, smelled burnt she said. Unhooked battery and it quit, just prior to parking and realizing this, the air was wide ass open or off. Help me out!

Sounds like the blower resistor.
Just pull down the cover under the glove box and the resistor is in there. Would be the first place to start. Should be able tell easily if it looks burnt.

One of the reasons those resistors go is the motor over drawing. See if the motor smells burnt while you're in there or if the smell is the resistor. Make sure the blower motor free wheels ok. You could also amprobe the motor to see what is drawing on high before you remove the resistor. If your motor is dying, it's just going to kill the next resistor, too.

Well, I bought the "two" resistors they had in stock before I pulled the old one....he didn't ask if it had rear air, and it does so after I wasted 20 min finding the right socket neither of them work, I have the lucky $330 one, I'll find a used one or order a cheaper one offline.
