Check out my thread and look at post #10!! http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8576
That's the way you would hook up one of your lights, just gotta use a wire that has 12v all the time but hook your light up like I did!! Like I mentioned before, if you hook the 12v power to one side of the switch and the light comes on, that tells you that you need to hook up the other side of the switch instead!!
Just try one light like that and let us know if it works like it should!!
Mike, I am with you. I consider myself highly technical and somewhat educated, but I do not have a degree from Harvard.
Nope, I will NOT check out your thread.
I am good with your first suggestion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris, you might have to draw these guys a picture.
I'll have to ask my daughter to borrow her finger painting supplies!! lol
I'll have to ask my daughter to borrow her finger painting supplies!! lol
Now, before you borrow the finger paint, let me throw a MONKEY WRENCH your way, as the most BIZARRE thing just happened:
Installed the lights yesterday and had the problem since.
I just went to take my daughter somewhere and as she is driving with me, she wants to read something and turns on the front passenger reading/map light. Dim, as expected.
She is done reading and wants to look at something in the vanity mirror and as she opens it, I hear a click and the reading lamp/map light is as bright as can be.
I can not believe it, play around with it numerous times, turn it back off and on and even have her play with the vanity mirror a few times, I do the same with the drivers one. I even stop, shut the truck off and see if this may change anything.
NOPE, all lights still work in the manual position, BRIGHT as when the doors open.
NOW WHAT? BUT, it seems like MY ISSUE is solved!!!!!!!
WHAT?
Not sure i can try that now, w/ the relay, but might be trying that tomorrow. My kind of fix. A self fixing one.
I never open the vanity. Wonder if it matters, passenger or drivers? heck i'll try both of them.
Let us know if they go dim again.
