Hello everyone I have an 03 gmc yukon slt with the 5.3l with 160k miles. The yukon is a no start at the current moment. Yesterday it would just crank and not fire up at all. Didn't get time to mess with much last night as it was late so I just unhooked the battery to try and reset everything. This morning I plugged it all back in and all the lights were flashing for about 30secs. Now it continuous cranks in the run position. We aren't using the factory keys as they are no were to be found and have a cheap spare that we have been using this week. Is this the POS paslock system messing with me?

It could be. I'm no expert on these, but I had some problems with mine in the past.

What does your DIC say when you put your key in and crank? I don't recall exactly what mine said but it was something to the effect of the key was not recognized, or invalid, something like that. My battery had to be charged the day before and screwed it all up.

Long story short, I fixed my issue by ensuring the battery was fully charged before I reconnected it and I was able to get it to recognize my key, and the DIC now says "driver 2" or "driver 1" depending on the key.

It could also be the body control module.

Good luck.

Well we don't have either of the factory black head keys just the silver cheap key from the hardware store. I have the battery unhooked again at the moment to see if that makes it any different. I was going to check for spark and fuel pressure this morning but when I hooked the battery back up and it cranks continuously in the run position I didn't even bother. I figured it's a bull sh*t gm issue rather than fuel or spark

Well I hooked the battery back up and now it's just the no start issue the flashing light and continous crank in the run position went away. I'm going to try the key relearn procedure and see if that works

not familar with the passlock.

if it was me id charge the battery, put a fuel pressure testor on, and test for spark on all cyl's.

unfortunately, pulling the battery may have deleted any codes you had? could be a crank sensor? if your battery is charged enough, and you crank long enough, i have heard that the crank sensor code may be able to come back while cranking.

Well I got the new fuel pump in and tank put back under. I have the fuel filter unhooked to replace but leaving it unhooked for now. When I turn the key on I only get fuel for about 3 seconds then it stops flowing. Do I need to finish hooking everything up for it to pressurize corectly
