04 Denali Ouestions....

Few ouestions:
1. Whats a good shock to run on these badboys? (Air Shocks/AutoRide are long gone) Also I will be towing from time to time...
2. Does anyone make a steering stabilizer/s for lowered Denalis? Im running
26's and get the "DeathWooble" from time to time when I drive the perfect roads of Louisiana,lol....
3. Also any good companies that make any good steering componets?

The reason for the questions is that I am getting ready to overhaul the front suspension and put some new tires on her. Want to do it right the first time!

1. Skip the air ride Steve. Add some airlift helper bags to the rear and that will help with towing. My personal preference is the bilstein HDs. A lot of guys like the Belltech shocks too. I have a 5/5.5 drop on 20s but I don't really tow/haul with my truck much so I haven't spent the money on the airlift parts. Do a search for airlift helper bags and you'll see a few trucks that have them. I think member Knobz has a 3/5 and 26s with the helper bags.

2. No aftermarket stabilizers for lowered trucks just yet. We all want them and a couple guys have custom fabbed stuff but nothing off the shelf.

3. Try Moog for steering components.

Thanks Alex! I don't mind fabing something up, just wanted to exhaust all resources before I resort to the torch! Didnt care for the autoride to much anyways it was more of a pain in the ass then what it was worth to me. If she was a few yrs old than yes I would have gone the OEM route with her, but this baby has been long paid off and will strictly be a pleasure vehicle for the family. We plan on picking up a 25 foot+ boat this winter/spring and the Denali is perfect with AWD to pull the boat out of the slip... I have seen my buddies struggle with there Tahoes with there big Bajas,etc.... However when the Denali is on the scene its no worries. Launched a 28' Cig1 last summer (still had stock air shocks) and the 6.0 AWD didn't struggle at all! With that being said that is my mine concern is to be able to pull a decent size boat and my 89 Foxbody 5.0 from time to time. Again Thanks!!!

i would put the arnott bilstein replacements in place of autoride...get a new compressor from them as well

dont do helper bags, it will ride like crap, you wont be happy. You can get an OEM compressor on ebay for $180 and shocks for like 3-400 from arnott.

Have you ever even run the helper bags in a lowered truck because I have the helper bags on a 3/5 drop and they don't suck. They made the ride way better and smoother. Yea the oem air ride crap that ALWAYS goes bad or wears out sure might be ideal on a stock height truck but not on a heavily lowered truck. And the price difference is huge between the two different options.

I would highly agree with Alex and ditch the air ride crap and run helper bags.

i run the air lift bags on my lifted z71 truck and they make a big difference. i'd definitely do it again if i had too
