Hey all I upgraded my front rotors/calipers/brackets and pads with 07+ size parts (rotors and pads)--saw a thread where this was done for increased stopping power, yet I seem to be having some weird ABS issues.

I have tried numerous times to bleed the system (as I had to remove the brake lines of course) on the two front calipers. I bled : (rear-pass) to (front-driver) to (rear-driver) to (front-pass), bleed till no bubbles. The front driver caliper seems to not be functioning correctly as very little fluid is coming out. and I keep getting a service brake system error and absolutely no brake resistance at all. The pedal is very soft. I pretty much only have rear brake stopping power, and of course the parking brake

I can also hear slight mechanical wear, when slowly driving around the block. Also the new rotors have a thin wear line only on the top outer rim of the rotors. Almost as if only the top 1/16' of the pad is contacting the rotor. This is on both sides. I can take pictures and post them if that helps

I removed stock 04 rotors/brackets/rotors and pads, that were badly worn, and I have 20" rims that came with the car when I bought a few years back. Should I scrap the larger rotors/brackets/calipers and pads, and just go back to the 04 size? and would it best to wait for a pressure bleeder like a motive or just have it towed to a local brake shop to have the system bled?

thanks for any help, I am stumped

Okay I pulled everything apart again, and tested fitments.

Please see the pictures I added to see if you see anything awry. this is the FRONT DRIVER SIDE

1) the metal retaining clips were rubbing against the rotor (hence the silver circle pattern around the top circumference of the rotor. It appears I need the small wire circle clips on the hub studs to keep the rotor flat. So I will go find those somewhere

2) I am still not getting any caliper piston travel at ALL. I lifted the caliper open and placed a weight on the brake pedal inside the car--pushing it to the floor, and the piston is not moving at all. I turned the car ON, and of course I get the "service brake system" beeping and warning. Is that an air leak (bleed issue? ), or has my master cylinder went kapoot all of a sudden. I had no brake system issues prior to replacing these calipers.

They are new, but could they be damaged somehow? anyway to test them?

Thanks

:chair::chair::chair::chair:

just saw that I had the darn things upside down:chair::chair::chair:

so thanks for the help the bleeder is now in the correct orienation, would that be the reason why I have no pedal pressure?

I can't bleed it till my brother comes home arrrgh

Sure would be, air bound and cause most of your troubles. You don't need the e clips to hold the rotor on the lugs will do just fine go in a start pattern while tighten. Also I'd check your hub surfaces make sure there's no rust build up keeping the rotor from sitting flush. Good luck hope it all works for you. This mod is on my to do list.

you start at the right rear, left rear, right front, left front. All of the fluid has to go through the ABS unit and it sits under the driver on the frame rail.
