I bought this truck a few days ago. When I test drove it there was engine noise coming from the radio. After I bought it and drove it to get tags...I got back in and the radio would operate normally but no sound would come out. That was a pioneer deck. I wanted to check the wiring behind the radio, as I had no SWC, RES, or Onstar. So last night I installed a Kenwood DDX9702s with the correct pack box. Now I have all of my features. But the radio still only plays when it wants to. Any ideas? I know some people said the amp, but I don't even know where thats at in this truck. Hate to take it to Chevy. I am sure that its an electrical problem. Thanks in advance.

The amp is inside the center console. You could try to bypass it and see if that works. Or all or your speakers are blown and cut in and out when they want to lol. I have seen both cases

Speakers sound fine when they work. No issues with them today. I think it may be some kind of ground issue. Not sure how to bypass the amp.
