04 Yukon Denali Steering Issue

I just started noticing that while driving down the road it's like my yukon floats for like a half-second and I can feel the play in the steering wheel. Pretty sure I'm gonna have it looked at soon but thought someone might have experienced this? A weird feeling nonetheless!

mileage? You probably have worn out tie rods, idler/pitman arms.

Could be tie rods or quite possibly a steering shaft. Every other tahoe, yukon, silverado, and sierra from '06 and back experience this at one time or another. What's your mileage ?

Usually steering linkage problems float side to side. Up and down I would guess your electric front shocks are done.

I had this same issue, it wound up being a loose pinch bolt.

If you know how to pull the steering, you can save a lot of money, otherwise the dealership will get you on labor. Mine was $300 because of the steering wheel/dash. IF this is the problem.

How many miles are on your Yukon?

Could be an ISS issue....my steering felt loose and sloppy mostly in slow speed turns and over small bumps. Ended up taking the nut off the steering shaft and working the steering shaft up/down to move the grease around and all has been fine since. Just a thought....
